Krogoth: The Revelation in kotor was awesome.

You seriously did not see it coming? It's also too bad that it changed pretty much nothing in the game.

FoxbodyMustang: Final Fantasy III (snes) - To this day still my favorite in the series, besides the first one. VII is great too, but I still like 3 better. The huge roster of characters and storyline, there is just so much content packed into that little cart.

Cardian: Are we talking about FF3 or FF6? Because FF3 didn't impress me that much, but 6 is the best title in the series IMO. I'm just asking, because you crazy Americans keep calling the sixth part number 3.....

Sorry for the confusion, I'm referring to the american release of FF3 for the SNES, with Terra, Kefka, Mog, the Espers, MagiTek, and so on. Not sure which it was in Japan.
Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 1 + 2's intro.
I was absolutely stunned at how amazing they were. Come to think of it, the Left 4 Dead intro was pretty cool too.
the intros where indeed amazing for that time. The orcs looked like an ork should look :)
the ingame orc was more cartoony :)
the warcraft 3 intro was amazing to and very detailed
exiting the starter dungeon in Oblivion to see the vast and beautiful world, The end of the main quest in Oblivion.
There's 2 i can think of right now.
There was this part in Zelda, The Wind Waker, where the final boss battle with gannon i was fighting him i just made a special attack but somehow it glitched and zelda shot her golden arrow precisely at the same time, so right above his head i hit him with the sword and the arrow hit him at the same time, it was magnificent to say the least!
The 2nd one is in one of the CoD games on the game cube, there's this part where you play together with this sniper girl. your both sniping and keeping off Germans from entering this barn ish thing. after a while you start going on the field, only to be stopped by a cut scene where a tank blows her away. i really just had to put my controller down and sit there. i was like no..why?...
For the rest i never really had an emotional gaming experience except for with the game Tales of Symphonia. that game was one big WOW experience!
Hah, there's a lot, but here are some I can remember :
- Actually meeting Elminster in Baldur's Gate. I mean, that character was legendary in the AD&D table RPGs i played, so that was great to actually meet him.
- The moment a character tries to commit suicide in Final Fantasy VI, because she's a lone on a small island after the world has ended and the old man she took care of just died in his sleep. I mean, woah !! can you do that in a videogame ?? That was actually my first glimpse at something more "adult" in a video game.
- Zelda the Wind Waker. I know this game is not very well liked, but for me it was a complete success.
- The Witcher Enhanced Edition, when you have to choose between the healer and the magician. It tore me apart.
- HL² and the ending of episode 2. Now that's what I call a cliffhanger ! Hurry up Valve, to finish and release the last episode !
- Might and Magic III : at that time, i was all "wow, look, there is a world behind the walls of the city !"
- Might and Magic IV and V, when I figured the system to go from one side of Xeen to the other
- Oblivion, just for some astounding landscapes and architecture (especially with mods)
- Grandia (PS1), for the characters
- Valkyrie Profile (PS1), for the whole atmosphere of the game
- The first time I played Aliens vs Predator. Damn, being a Marine, in the dark, with the clicks on your radar, that was really scary !! And i loved the "survival" game, where you're a marine and basically you have to survive endless wawes of aliens attacks ; the longer you stay alive, the higher your score was. That was a damn fine game to play with a friend !!
Not counting what has been said here about Tie-Fighters, Icewind Dale, etc...

Sniper Elite: First bullet trail penetrating my target's left eye and seeing the blood fly out the back of his head in slow motion.
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (PC):
1) My computer actually able to run it (But has average lag amounts but it doesn't phase me.).
2) The online play and the easy control layout.
3) Watching a guard plummet from the lighthouse.

What's your Steam account? I'll add ye.
Castle: uncovering a secret passage by waving a magic wand.
Deus Ex: very early in the game, overhearing guards chat about random stuff.
Thief: I think it was level 3 or 4 that made me realise there's something called level design, and that a very select few people are terrific at it.
Resident Evil: Ok, it was more of an AIEEEE!!! moment, but the bit where a couple of dogs come hurtling through some windows.
Pool of Radiance, BG & PS:T: I played AD&D and those three really were everything I, at those points in time, had dreamt playing AD&D on a PC could be like.
Armageddon Empires: bar none the best coffee-break game I've ever played. Who'd have thunk a serious strategy game could be so short, sweet and re-playable?
Serious Sam: Sam stole my heart when he started whistling the theme from Indiana Jones.
... And many more.
I am amazed at the quality of Escape from Butcher bay, just played it.. Wow!
So far most of Trine has been making me go wow in little ways
Plenty of games in my collection enthrall my imagination, but one that I never had is perhaps even more noteworthy: Conker's Bad Fur Day, released in 2001 for the Nintendo 64 (and then in 2005, as Conker Live & Reloaded, for the Xbox).
Never in my wildest dreams could I fathom a video game (much less a game for a Nintendo console) employing scatological humor, especially to the extent that this one did. A giant main boss made of shit who taunt you in opera as he flings feces at you certainly breaks the mold, don't you think? See for yourself at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0w5neFPat1w.
Its parody of the D-Day amphibious assault scene from Saving Private Ryan is also quite memorable and iconoclastic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o6whHaEmZ8. It's worth a precious spot in every eclectic game menagerie.
Playing Half-Life for the first time.
Seeing Doom 3 graphics.
Ending of Mafia.
Discovering those places behind the walls in Portal. Creepy...
One of the earlier missions in Ground Control II where you had to advance on multiple fronts at the same time.
Seeing the first boss in Painkiller.
Bullet Time in Max Payne.
Art style, enemies and levels of Tron 2.0
Atmosphere in Freelancer.
Seeing and playing Warcraft: Orcs & Humans for the first time.
Warcraft III cinematics.
Summoning Ragnaros for the first time in World of Warcraft and getting slaughtered seconds later :D
Driving and jumping the jeep off a cliff, while being shot at, in the beginning of Far Cry, felt like an old Hollywood action movie :)
Brutality of Manhunt.
Awesomely made jungles in Vietcong.
And more recently, the ending of Lost Odyssey almost made me cry.
