Swedrami: Pretty much anything Blizzard, at least for now and as long as they are tangled up in this huge cluster fuck of politics, internal mismanagement in regards to their workforce and the consistent bad PR from executives giving themselves these ludicrous bonuses on top of their salaries.
At this point Blizzard might just be too scared that even something positive like releasing Diablo 2 + ToB on GoG could somehow end up in yet another PR blunder for them.
Well, they did release Diablo and W1+W2 here. I agree it's not very likely we are going to get anything else, but it's SOMETHING. Now, Rockstar would sooner liquidate rather than release one of their games DRM-free
dudalb: WIn 16 games are all most impossible to run on a 64 bit system, That is why "Indian Jones Desktp Advewntures " wont be here anytime soon.
THe EA Lord Of the Rings games because of license issues. LIcence scpired a number of years ago, EA no longer has the legal right ot sell those. Same for the Dune games.
And then you have games like NOLF which are in licence Limbo.....no one really knows who all the licence owners are;and no one wants to spend the money on legal costs to find out.
Games that caem out for Windows 16 only, dince witout dual boot or VR you cannot run them on a 64 bit Windows system.
I think games like Half Life are very unlikely dut to the policy of the copyright owners, but not totally impossible.
dudalb: again due to licencing issues.
The Lord of the Rings: the Return of the King was one of my favourite games as a kid. I still own a physical copy of it, but it's missing 1 out of 3 discs, so i can't install it. The... versions sailing on the high seas have completely butchered soundtrack and no cutscenes, which breaks immersion. THe EA Lord Of the Rings games because of license issues. dunno why EA won't just split money with WB and release it digitally. It's still some money.
Valve won't release their games here because they want to have people pinned to Steam. Their own games are not solely a profit in themselves, but also a way of promoting their own store.
However the first Half Life is so old that they might as well release it. Or they might get a**-holish and release Condition Zero here :D
