AnimalMother117: I also want to say that I liked the UI in Grim Dawn from before I installed Ashes of Malmouth. I loved Malmouth and do not remember much more than preferring the older UI.

mqstout: What UI changed? The main menu was better before, but it's modded to change I believe. The only other UI changes I can think of were moving the buttons in the stash a bit to make room for it to have a bit more storage space (and eventually adding the search box).
I guess not so much the UI but (after checking my screenshots) I remembered what I was trying to recall. The enemy information was different and the game did not at least by default put their health values above their heads, whether the cursor was over them or not. I think I liked it the old way more because it was more like Titan Quest but anymore I do not think I would agree with myself. In the comparison you only see one enemy but it happens regardless of group size. I apologize, this picture was put together from my screenshots using Paint.

AnimalMother117: enemy health bars...
There are many options for that on the Interface tab of options. I set it to "always show health bar for injured enemies".

Neverwinter Nights peeked at 1.69, which was the very last official build of the non-enhanced edition.

The more I read about the enhanced edition, the more I wonder if it is even worth bothering with. The improvements are superficial, yet there are new bugs introduced - including bugs that completely break the Wyvern Crown of Cormyr module and make it not playable. Steam players apparently got a hotfix of sorts and can play this module again, but GOG users have to wait for an official patch.... And that is exactly why the game peaked with 1.69 and not the enhanced version.

Non-enhanced Neverwinter Nights had plain vanilla Neverwinter Nights, the Collector's Edition, Gold Edition, Platinum Edition, and Diamond Edition. Despite all those different versions, you could install whatever expansions and premium modules that didn't come in the box and upgrade your game to the 1.69 build. There was no wrong version of the game that was forced to sit out and keep on waiting for fixes that everyone else got.
Yeah, I have my original Diablo II CDs and have a way of switching between different patches because there are some builds that only work in certain patches.

Our modern society decides that the latest patch is always the best patch, no individualism.
Not sure where the game is now, but I was disappointed when patches toned down the film-like Blade Runner look of Cyberpunk 2077. It really suited the game.

Once again, my inability to pay attention to certain things astounds me.

I'll probably play around with the options when I get to Forgotten Gods. Thanks.

What specifically was toned down?
low rated
Thought of another one. Mutant Football League Dynasty Edition.

I will still note this is an awesome arcade-style sports game and imo the best sports title available on GOG. However, while it has improved in the sense of adding some more teams in DLC over the years, I personally don't care for the "team descriptions" which have become increasingly annoying in terms of mentioning political topics over the last year and three-quarters (obviously this game is not alone in being the only piece of media to do this, haha).

It is enough to where I stopped buying the DLC teams and don't bother with roster updates. Unfortunately, for new players buying the game, there is no way I know of to get the old version offline installers from GOG...one is forced to use the "optional" client to rollback to old versions. I was lucky in the sense of being an early buyer and having a backup. It goes to show the DRM-free advantage, and also what the customer must do to try and ensure the DRM-free advantage.

The film effects (grain, chromatic aberration, etc.).

Which fair to you, but those are effects that I'd snipe from 200 yards away the instant I notice them.
Thanks to my friend, many years ago I had an opportunity to play in Fearless Fantasy, an utterly bizzare looking (yet fascinating at the same time) game, being some kind of cRPG, but focused mostly on battles. And it had a bit unusual thing, because every attack and block required to make some pattern (with mouse). Surprisingly, it wasn't an issue at all, in fact it was very fun game to play.

Unfortunately, it had changed control (my friend has noticed it in 2015, but it could be done earlier), for far, far worse. It looked like all new patterns were "borrowed" from mobile game and playing fights started to be annoying. It makes me very sad, because this arcade-ey gameplay together with psychodelic graphic style was a really fun mix. Before changes.
