Why this glitch only affects Fallout 1 and not the other two?
Why does this happen so persistently, and only to Fallout 1? I would assume it was related to the fact that they've been removed for sale, but then it doesn't seem to affect F2 or Tactics and they also have been removed for sale.... Not an enormous deal to only have access to the install file to a game I bought years ago 99% of the time, but an interesting bug. :'P

Hopper_WN: I don't see Fallout 1 either. Refreshing my account doesn't help either and also I can't find Fallout using "search" even to write a ticket of find a group related to it.

moonshineshadow: No need to do anything about it. Fallout comes back after a few minutes to a few hours. Just check for it a bit later.
Well, the game is missing for a week already, though maybe I need to wait more.

That is strange. Normally it was always back after a few hours. Perhaps you should contact support after all.
*sigh* Fallout is gone again...
Hey, my Fallout 1 game is GONE. What happened? 2 and Tactics are still here! Help? Anybody? :(
It looks like I have Fallout 1 missing from my shelf as well. Also, I've had an empty space on the shelf for some time. I figured it was a glitch and that it would get fixed as improvements were made to the interface. I have a second hole now, with the disappearance of Fallout. None of the suggestions in the thread have worked for me so far. I'll keep an eye on it, but I do hope it can get sorted out soon.

Fallou 1 tends to do that regularly. It should return soon. Every time it left my shelf it returned after a few hours.

Fallout 1 enjoys long walks on the beach. But don't worry, it always comes back! ;)
Mine is back already (I just noticed its absence maybe 6 hours ago), and I didn't engage in any shenanigans such as hiding/unhiding another game, so I can't offer any advice as to what made it return to those still missing it. Burn a sacrifice?
Yes, Fallout is back : ) I won't be so concerned if this happens again.

Now I've only got the one mystery hole left on my game shelf.

Did you participate in the Witcher Adventure Game Beta? That left a hole in the shelf of many people.

Phew. Thanks, mate. It did return just now. Time to backup this sucker!
What would be really cool is if one of the GOG developers would give a concise technical explanation as to why the games like Fallout disappear from our shelves at all ever, and roughly what they are doing short term to deal with that, as well as what their long term strategy is to fix the shelf to be stable and reliable. Doesn't need extreme details but some bullet points would be nice.

I'm guessing the existing infrastructure is a little shaky perhaps and has some strange bugs but would require changes to the code base that are large enough to risk further destabilization and they don't want to risk making things worse short term. I also speculate that they are rewriting all of this code as we speak with an entirely new code base that will address these issues within the framework of a far superior overall design and that they would rather devote their limited and finite resources to working on the new redesign than to splinter off developer man hours to playing "fix the spaghetti" and possibly destabilizing the existing code further while delaying the redesign.

Pure rampant but reasonable speculation on my part, but would be nice to hear some thoughts from an in-the-know blue if they're able to say anything.

You're welcome. It happened to me so many times now that i generally don't about it disappearing.

Backing it up might be a good idea :).
