Unreal: Return to Na Pali: Yeah, well, it was basically more Unreal, which is both good and bad, I guess.

DOOM 3: Played the original, not BFG edition, so I had to switch between light and weapons. Could have installed a mod but I thought, what the heck. I wanted to experience it as it was originally meant to see what the fuss was about. And once you get used to it, it's not too bad. Overall an ok game, even good at times. The audiologs and E-Mails that are used to tell the story mostly sucked, though.

Star Wars: Dark Forces: Yeah, I'm into old shooters at the moment it seems. Anyway, I'm not quite finished yet, as I have yet to beat the last mission. The lack of a save function during missions makes it different from most other games I've played, so that took a bit getting used to. But it would have been very short if it were possible to quicksave. Other than that, it's more or less DOOM with a Star Wars theme, but with a somewhat decent story (meaning there is one) and a few differences, like jumping (it's not really fun if you can't actually look down, though).
Finished No One Lives Forever: GOTY Edition.
It's been at least ten years since I last played it. It's soo good. I can't believe I sold this game back in the day. Dummy. Man, what an awesome game!

Vampire: The Masquerade: Redemption

Very underrated game, heavily outshined by it's sequel Bloodlines. Atmosphere is great, love story captivating, characters memorable. Graphics were great in 2000, nowdays a bit outdated. Combat is fun, although I sticked to melee most of the time as ranged is just too much hassle. There are plenty of stats and disciplines (skills) to raise, although honestly I only found a handful of them actually useful.

Two things that aren't so great: 1. locations are hilariously small 2. dungeons get repetitive after a while.

Overall a solid 8/10, would recommend.
Bought the Mega Man Legacy Collection on PS4 today and Just finished the first Mega Man. Wow, this game sucks. Back in the day Mega Man 3 was probably my favourite game on the NES, I always assumed all the Mega Man games were timeless masterpieces. Well, this one certainly isn't. The controls are unnecessarily unresponsive and the level and enemy design is just awful and riddled with what I like to call "asshole design". Even some of the most basic enemies have ridiculously complicated behaviour that makes them accurately attack you and almost impossible to avoid (unless you've probably put a million hours into the game). And of course there's classics like enemies unexpectedly popping up as you're trying to make a jump over a pit etc.. Towards the end things just get insane and I have no idea how anyone ever beat the game without using cheats, save states etc.. Admittedly I abused the hell out of this edition's "rewind" feature so I don't feel like I can honestly say that I beat Mega Man but seriously, there's no chance in hell I would have ever finished the game without it.
Daikatana with patch 1.3

even with fan patch is far from perfect, had to search for another patch because one mission was so bugged it corrupts my saves (The Vault, last mission of Episode1).

Game is one big escort mission, and we all know escort mission sux in videogames. Bad pathfinding+bad AI+imperfetion in maps geometry = test of patience and will.
Without them it was nice FPS, if not for a lot of backtracking and switch hunt, often hidden stuff.

Eh, it is tough but you can beat it by learning/memorizing the game. The really tough part is going up against the yellow devil toward the end because it's very unforgiving going up against him without knowing the pattern to use, but even then you can use the pause trick with the electrical power to take him down in seconds.

o_O

wut!? I loved it. Frustrating as ALL HELL but it was a thing of the 80s.Of course old me had to push the rewind button a couple of times but for "damn I missed this jump" time purposes heh.
Borderlands 2 + the main 4 DLC. Beat the main game & side quests on Normal, the DLC on "True Vault Hunter Mode" (i.e. NG+). Tiny Tina's DLC was da bomb. DLC wise, kinda got burned out, so in two of the DLCs (pirate & hunter) I skipped almost all the side quests. Didn't do any of the Raid Bosses since I'm a solo player. Actually went back to Normal to try the first raid boss which was level 50, figuring that at my level 51 with level 50 gear I would stand a shot..... and got it to about 50% health before it knocked me off the cliff. So yeah, I stand a chance, but that fight's too annoying to keep trying it.

Anyway, it's a fun game, liked it more than the first Borderlands. Doubt I'll ever continue either my current game or start a new character as my backlog's way too large. Though who knows, anything's possible.

Absolutely none also I have a massive backlog that spans all the way back to 2008 that sits untouched because I'm being talked at (over 6000 questions and parent demands I answer them) all the time!

A couple more from me...

Borderlands 2 (28 April 2019)
Yeah, I know. This game's been out forever, and Handsome Jack has become an iconic villain, and whatnot. I didn't give in to the Steam machine until last month, and I haven't owned a console in over a decade. Base game was fun enough, and I enjoyed the humor... the rest of the story wasn't really all that interesting, though. Maybe because there were things that got spoiled sometime between the release and my playing it? But anyways, smooth first-person shooting, with some really fun guns to play with. The Tiny Tina DLC was hilarious, until it wasn't -- but for good reasons. The other DLC I played (Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) were okay. I got worn out as I was finishing the Baddass Crater of Badassitude and just stopped. But yeah, it was definitely worth $10 for the Handsome Collection.

Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark (12 May 2019)
As mentioned in many reviews, the gameplay in Fell Seal is very close to the original Final Fantasy Tactics (FFT). You control a group of heroes on a grid, mix and match classes and skills, fight monsters and humans, and lead an idealist on a journey to expose the corruption lurking within a respected institution. There are differences, of course. Your crossbows don't have a minimum distance; obstacles like trees don't block your shots; there are no one-hit kill spells or abilities. As such, the basic gameplay is a bit easier than FFT; however, there are numerous difficulty settings that you can adjust to make the game more or less challenging. You can turn off permadeath, stop enemies from hitting a level cap, and things like that. Story-wise, and without going into any spoilers, you are playing as the female captain of a group of law-keepers known as arbiters, who works with her team to unravel the corruption that is plaguing the arbiters and those who command them. Over the course of your playthrough—40+ hours if you want to grind or do end-game content—you can unlock secret classes and companions, craft strong weapons, participate in fighting contests, and experience multiple endings. The release I played (1.02) is polished, and delivers consistent gameplay throughout. Overall, I'd recommend buying it. Frankly, I can't wait for DLC.

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (12 May 2019)
This is a remake of a game I never played back in the 90s, and I bought it mostly for my son. It's a pretty brief game, unless you're going for a 100% completion run. It only took me 3.4 hours (according to Steam), and that was enough to get 75% of achievements as well. The story is basically "Mickey has to save Minnie from a witch who wants to steal her youth", and you have to travel through ten levels, five boss battles, and a final dungeon to save her. It was actually quite fun, although the final boss was a bit frustrating. My son was cracking up while he was sitting on my lap... he likes to watch Let's Plays by the Ryan's Toy Review, and I guess between Mickey's sound-bites and my own comments he enjoyed playing with me about as much. That alone was worth the $2 I spent on the game.

Finished Mega Man 2 on PS4 yesterday. It's certainly a major improvement over Mega Man 1 and hugely reduces the issues I had with the first game, albeit not entirely. It's a lot more accessible and the amount of sections that can only be beaten via trial & error is much smaller, although there's still a few ridiculous sections like this (one that really pissed me off is where you have to quickly drop a few screens because otherwise you get killed by weird big yellow bars). Of course I still used the rewind feature but I didn't quite abuse it anymore as much as in the first game.

Anyway, two down, a thousand more to go, gah.
Doom 3

Do I really want to fuck with the expansion? I am so sick of shooters now, because that was loooooong!!!!!

It does make me laugh when Mega Man fanatics complain that Capcom doesn't care about them or Mega Man, considering there are so many games in the entire series :)

It's pretty decent for an expansion...although i'd say steer clear of the BFG version. They cut some arcade machines/etc in the BFG version of the expansion.

Also: The second expansion the lost missions is semi-decent(the BFG only expansion), but they reused alot of art/graphics assets in that one and it's kinda short.
Anno 1503

It was a nice change of pace to actually play the campaign in one of these older anno games, instead of just custom games over and over. Unfortunately the campaign isn't that impressive, at least the levels that don't have you just building and growing a settlement. I'd rather recommend someone to stick to the custom games and perhaps check out a few scenarios.
Otherwise it's a great game, for the most part anyway. Everything related to building and growing your settlements is wonderful, but the infernal land combat is an exercise in frustration. Verrry clunky :\ Luckily that only represents a minority of your game time though.
