A video gamer in Taiwan has died after a three-day gaming binge, the country’s second “sudden death” involving an Internet café customer this year.

The 32-year old man was found dead in the city of Kaohsiung, the Taipei Times reports. The man, identified only by his surname, Hsieh, had been playing combat computer games for three days.

Staff at the Internet café initially thought that the man, who suffered cardiac failure, was sleeping.

get off your asses and do some exercise and just
play games standing instead of sitting
I'd say he could have used this:

Yes,I agree on that one...

That seems counter-productive. Why not just take breaks and sit in a chair while you play?

I recall hearing of this like a week ago on RTU (unless this is another case of it, but the title & suggests it isn't).

Exercise may not be an option. More specifically he was poor and the cafe was the only thing he could afford. If you can't afford food, you can't afford to burn calories.

Standing might help with circulation but otherwise it probably doesn't do much. Personally i can't stand in one place for long. Side effect of being in the military.

As for why he was at the cafe. Probably burning time until he (or his family) got a paycheck, or maybe just trying to distract himself for as long as possible and not concentrate on how bad his life was doing.
I wonder how does it feel. Is it like you're knowing you're gonna die by getting weaker and weaker or is it like "yes, I've beat level 34945675, just two more to go and I will .... HNGH!!" *drops dead*

Well, you did say you would find a later use for that picture, and here it is ;-)

Total Distortion.
That is such a tragic thing to read about. It definitely reminds me of the Diablo 3 marathon run in Taiwan awhile ago.

I guess these people take gaming to a whole another level. Thanks for bringing this up Roxolani, Taiwan seemes to be a growing place for these sorts of things... :(
I'm actually impressed by that Internet Cafe. Not only is it obviously opened 24/7, but they just let their customers sleep when they get too tired.
It's like some bar in small village, where local drunks practically live.
Amateur...

I don't know about Internet Cafes, but here in the bars, even if they are open 24/7, eventually they will throw your ass out. Probably has something to do with the fact that if a bartender stands there and serves you till you die, then your family can take legal action against him and the bar.
