Why does Serpent in the Staglands show a size of 272MB on the store page and 3.9GB when I install it with Galaxy?
On the store page it lists the compressed download size for the standalone installer, Galaxy downloads uncompressed data. Note that the game's minimum requirements list 3GB of hard drive space.

Galaxy downloads what now? Now I'm never gonna touch it.

I wonder if Gog will ever change that.. but IMO downloading uncompressed files (and for 1 usage) is absurd -_-

Since 1.1.6 (or 1.1.7) Galaxy has support for downloading compressed data, though not sure if all games support that yet.
Edit: And you can always just grab the installers themselves through Galaxy.

If they ever expect wide adoption of the client, they need to. Downloading multi gigabyte games with no compression is murder on limited internet connections.
I suspect Serpents it a bit on the 'unoptimized' side when it comes to things such as loading game data. Loading saves, at least in early versions, took way too long and could be a be real annoyance when you were trying to get past a difficult fight. I hope they've addressed that with a patch since. It's my only real complaint about the game.

There is already a huge list of games supporting it. I suspect it will be a while before all do though as that is like 1300+ games they have to repackage for the new download system.
