On the 5th and 6th of March 2022, the venue will play host to original arrangements of fan-favorite video game soundtracks, as well as various accompanying events, including workshops and meetings with audio professionals. This year's edition will feature a big-band ensemble playing the jazz age soundtrack of Cuphead, followed by a symphonic concert featuring music from Ori and the Will of the Wisps, as well as Ori and the Blind Forest.

I have never played Dustforce, which I got in one of the earlier Humble Bundles along with its soundtrack many years ago, but one day I decided to listen to said soundtrack and ever since then it has frequently been in my playlist. I basically had the album on repeat and listened to nothing else for the first couple of months after I discovered it.
Piotr Musial and "Frostpunk" OST. Heavy, beautiful music that we listen to in the daytime, on long dar road trip, or when playing board games.

It's best songs we found so far when we played "Pandemic Legacy", with similar mood.

Cannot wait for new game, I hope the OST will be again available on the vinyl!

Cuphead Obviously!
Even though I would die over and over again it's only made me memorise every last note of every fight
Some I can immediately think of are

Assassin's Creed 2: Just walking around in each city and taking in the sights was some of the most relaxing experiences I've had in my early gaming life. I still listen for the sake of nostalgia but I find the soundtrack still holds up to this day.

Frostpunk: The soundtrack alone was what made this game memorable for me. The looming presence of death in the violin strings and the outright dread that can be created from the orchestra is a masterclass and has become my favourite city-builder since.

Halo (until Reach): For such a futuristic game, it goes to show how themes of a game does not need to be imitated by the soundtrack. The subtle buildup in quiet times in Halo 1, the smooth noir jazz in ODST, and the heroic struggle in Reach are downright magic to my ears at times. While I admire 343i's Halo to adapt to Bungie's, nothing can beat the classic thanks to O'Donnell.
Lately I've been listening to blood dragon and streets of rage 4 OST on a continuous loop. But in the past I've loved both silver surfer (for nes) as well as... cheetah men? Obscure perhaps. Still pretty good. I remember liking super turrican but haven't heard it in years.

GogWarrior71: [...]

1.) Final Fantasy VII - SEPHIROTH! No other game will give to that "Oh $#!7" feeling.
[...]
You are referring to "One Winged Angel"?

...

It's hard to pick any JRPG OST, tbh.

I allways enjoy the Wild Arms titles (also: check out the awesome oc remix Wild Arms: ARMed and DANGerous).

And I think Hitoshi Sakimoto outdid himself with Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. You might notice him also for his Ivalice-Sound (Vagrant Story, FFT, FFXII) So that's what I go for.
So hard to pick one! Final Fantasy VII and XV are amazing. Doom is a classic. StarCraft is great. I love the Fallout soundtracks. So difficult!
The're effectivily so much soundtrack that inspired me, but if i have to pick just one i think it will be the Rayman 3 soundtrack. it surely cause of the nostalgia i have and because it was one of my first game, but even when the years past, i can always return to play this game and truly apprecied it soundtrack .

i will just give you some samples
i find a cover of the soundtrack "land of living dead" playing with a piano just beautiful and it calm me soooo much.
and with "Rayman 3 ost "the credits" as you can hear, they are a large pallets of songs !

this game truly doesn't age !! i encourage you to play it specially if you like platform game !
i really want to assist at this orchestra to be honest !
thanks for this post it encourage me too listen more video games soundtrack !!

essex20: ...and much C64 Sid of Rob Hubbard, Chris Hülsbeck, Marin Galway and so on....
That reminded me of groups of musicians that remixed those old tracks with modern instruments but I've forgot what website it was.

Definitely, I never get tired of "Planescape Torment" soundtrack.
Literally.
I have the OST in my smartphone music app, and I listen to it once a week, as a minimum.
I find myself returning to the Nier Gestalt & Replicant OST again and again.

Since it's already been mentioned I also like listening to the Jazz Jackrabbit OST ( YT S6L78lXPHro).
Deus Ex GOTY soundtrack is my personal favorite.
I missed the deadline I think lol :D

but I've been humming the Deus Ex soundtrack tunes to myself often the last 20 years :D. Paris cathedral death jingle or the main theme and the underwater base are the top

also Arcanum soundtrack is top quality

DiesIrae: The work by Nihon Falcom's sound team is usually underappreciated.
Yes! Partly because they charge as much for the soundtracks as for the game :/, although luckily they are all on YouTube. On an album basis, my favorite is Ys Origin.

The RiME soundtrack by David García Díaz is the one I listen to most often, although I won't link since the full main theme is only revealed after completing the game (anyone who hasn't played it yet should :) ). The developers include a thank you to the vocalist Mirella Díez Morán for inspiring them to keep going during the rough development process. It is a really nice song and really nice soundtrack in general (I love all the cello).

Also, while I haven't played the actual game the VirtuaVerse soundtrack is another one I listen to quite a bit as music (a lot of game music works well in the game but isn't great on it's own IMO). Yaga's soundtrack also includes two almost-full albums in addition to the edited version used in the game. The Masquerada soundtrack is also one of my favorites that I listen to as music. All of Pablo Vega's music for Arcen is great, for instance the A Valley Without Wind soundtrack. The techno-mariachi of the Guacamelee soundtrack is also great.

For anyone interested who hasn't seen it there is a long music thread in the forums that isn't limited to game music but does have a lot of game music posted.

Posting after the deadline is safely past since I couldn't use the tickets anyway.

Edit: Just noticed there is Ys Origin Super Arrange as well that sounds nice, as well as a few Symphony Ys albums.

The music of Rise of the Triad is a classic that I would put against any of the video game soundtrack greats. Even in MIDI form, over twenty years later, there are so many fantastic tracks it's hard to find a bad one among them. Andrew Hulshult also nailed remaking the soundtrack for the 2013 reboot, turning the music into the best part of an otherwise mediocre game (sorry RotT 2013 fans).
