It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Recently installed Return to Krondor. It failed to load, and proceeded to change most of the fonts on my Windows 10 PC (explorer, firefox, etc.)

Uninstalled the game and tried reinstalling NVIDIA drivers, clearing the font cache, importing the font registries from a new user account (which DID have default fonts), system restore, nothing has worked. Not willing to open another user account just to have my fonts back, but would appreciate if anyone has a solution.

I don't have this game, but fonts are usually stored in a central directory shared by all accounts. I can't imagine gog actually allowing this in an installer, but i imagine that either the fonts got overwritten at the system level in that central directory, or they got installed to a local directory and deleting the local directory (not the system directory) would solve the issue. I would suggest, however, looking deeper into the problem and finding the cause before performing . You are already committing voodoo (definition 2) and you are also joining the [url=http://catb.org/jargon/html/C/cargo-cult-programming.html]cargo cult. This is bad mojo.
Have you tried just resetting the fonts in your system settings?

Just had a thought: Is Cleartype on?

Some screenshots would be cool. Just to satisfy our curiosity... my curiosity :)

Strange.

Not sure about the game itself, but you can easily change back to a more normal dpi. Change in dpi will effect everything in windows.

Just for the record, the game is not officially supported on anything newer than Windows 7, as you can see on the gamecard.

With that out of the way, the only thing that may affect fonts is indeed ClearType settings. Game is supposed to disable CT on launch and re-enable on quit.

As Darvond wrote above, please check if your ClearType settings are back to normal. Easiest way to do so is:

- press WinKey + R, with will open Run window
- type CTTUNE and press Enter
- follow instructions on-screen to tweak your fonts visibility
Updated fonts may also make them look very different. For example those updates to introduce certain new currency symbols, have them listed (to know to avoid them back then, or if a reinstall will be needed) as 2970228, 3102429 for my Win 7.

Have some images saved to see how it looked after installing those, including one from the GOG forum, see 2.gif here, while 1.gif is that post normally, with unupdated fonts (due to forum bug, can't compare the bolded links, but also added the bolded title now, so you can see bold too).

So in case it for some reason installs updated fonts, that may happen. But I played that one and it didn't do that for me, back then at least, and on Win 7.
