However, not sure if you're aware, but change dot org petitions are basically worthless afaik. And this petition is already several years old.
If I remember correctly, Jane Jenssen tied the possibility of the 4th game to the success of the remake she made a couple years ago.

Since the remake was absolute rubbish, I doubt that there will be 4th game any time soon (and if it was going to be in the style of the remake, I think that's a good thing).

Remake didn't sell but wasn't that bad. Have you played Moebius? Jane Jensen is better off writing her gay erotica than video games.

I own the original game and the 20th Anniversary edition, I don't see any way the remake was an improvement over them (worse graphics, worse interface, worse voice actors), but if I'm wrong, do tell.

It didn't help that 90% of the signatures are on from the same person, who managed to trick the authentication system by wearing a cat-hair moustache.
I'd love to see Jane Jensen do another game, but I'm honestly surprised they even acknowledged the petition. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but she seemed fairly burnt out after the production of Moebius/GK20 and bummed out by the lukewarm (or, in the case of Moebius, outright hostile) reception the games got from her fans. I seem to remember an interview where she seemed somewhat averse to the idea of making another game.

Oh yes it was. The remake was indeed rubbish, and very awful.
I didn't think the Remake of GK was bad it, I will admit to getting board but that just may be due to my familiarity of the original at the time. Will say it could have been better.

I do recall that one or two puzzles were altered from the original. Jane Jensen wrote a novel based on GK1 and some areas were altered in the book, most likely to serve the medium better, but the changes I noticed lined up with the changes that were made in the the book.

In a recent interview, she seemed much more receptive to the idea, actually, they even briefly touched on the hope that the Microsoft acquisition of Activision might help (Activision wasn't interested, when the previous talks happened).

The interview is on the Conversation with Curtis channel, by the way, if you are interested in adventure games, I think it's a channel worth checking out.

Curtis was the protagonist of Phantasmagoria 2, and recently he created a series of interview with a lot of the people involved in P2, to celebrate the anniversary of the game, but he has since moved on and is interviewing other people in the adventure gaming world as well.

I agree in that it wasn't bad, it's just ever-so-slightly worse than the original in almost all departments (except audio/video fidelity, for obvious reasons). For a lot of stuff, it's faithful to the original, some of the new puzzles seem tacked on, and even the scenes they added which they had to cut for the original don't seem as fleshed out as they should be. The voice acting isn't bad, but the original is amazing, and similar things could be said about the art direction.

It's still nice to have, especially for the dev track as they reminisce about making the original, but it's just either on par or worse in too many areas to be excited about it. I guess it's more accessible, however.

Never factored the voice acting myself, honestly it wouldn't have been fair to the new actor they got as how can anyone compare to Tim Curry.

While the comparison might be unfair, the VA is still part of the experience. I still crack a smile whenever I think about the line I heard the most ("What can you tell me about Voodoo?"), a different voice probably wouldn't have been as amazing.
