Exoanthrope: Well October is the month I do a drawing every day if you want me to spam this thread daily. :P
I'm perfectly fine with that. One entry (I think it was awalterj's?) had some 20-something portraits on it. You're free to make as many pictures as you darn well please.
low rated
I am in.

I got some jokes if that qualifies for the GA.

1. The dogs next door gets a little noisy, so one day somebody called animal control to complain.
When the officers arrived, I heard my neighbor tell them, "Hey dogs bark. It's human nature".

2. I was passing by a dog training center this morning and saw something funny.
I saw a sign for the dog obedience training classes.

The description under the sign read,
" Dog Obedience Training Class: Takes Place Mondays at 8 PM"
"Instructor: Katt"

Hm...I wonder if I can ping snowkatt from here...
Here is wooden sword I have made for my nephew. I hope you'll like it. My cousin and her kids were on medieval knightly tournament. Kids were thrilled, especially older one for whom I even arranged meeting The Black Knight :) and kid started to bother me to buy him overpriced wooden sword of simplest design (few pieces of wood with some duct tape). I said "No, I can make you far better one". I was not in mood for woodcarving, but promise is a promise. :)

There is picture in attachment, but you can see much nicer collage of photos in higher resolution here . You can see there sword in conception from an old plank, and all sides of it. In attachment below you cannot do so.

This writing you see is in ancient Slavic glagolitic alphabet. Inscription on one side of sword is written in combination of rectangular and triangular glagolitic letters specific for Croatia. If you played Witcher games you have probably seen glagolitic letters, because Polish authors of these games are proud of their Slavic heritage.

I wanted this sword to have some message so inscription says: "Voli i poštuj prirodu i bližnjega svoga". Loosely translated from Croatian it means "Love and respect nature and thy neighbour (those around you)".

The sword has also Croatian interlace on handle, an ornamental pattern specific for medieval Croatia, similar somewhat to Celtic knot. There are many other ornaments like peace dove, flowers, harts, tree (of life) , bird on a branch, ... and so on. On other side there is English transliteration of same message with some pictographs...

Oh my gosh. That's amazing. I want one.
If I fight your nephew to the death, can I have it? He may be good enough to beat the Black Knight, but my mighty brother ZeoBold has trained me well!

Also, what do you mean by a "medieval knightly tournament"? Some sort of....Renaissance fair?

zeogold: Prizes can be chosen either from a list donated by gnostic, a list donated by VaaNFM, or in the form of two extra games exceeding the limit on The Community Giveaway - Steam Edition.
Not to be an asshole, but shouldn't you make the games list known? I mean, we don't even know if it's GOG or Steam games or what. Would be silly for someone to be in just to learn there are no games they're interested in on it, or they own them already, or will not be able to redeem because they don't use Steam.

Just a thought, I'm not sure if I would be in anyway, and even if, the competition would have to be pretty slim for me to win anything :P

They're GOG games, and that's a good point, I'll add them. I'd forgotten to do so when I made the post.

Thank you! I'm flattered that you admire and want my work so much. Please do not fight my nephew to death, because he is, with due respect, far more skilled swordsman than you and your brother. He would defeat you, than ZeoBold as he tries to avenge you, and than someone avenging him...

My nephew "Sir" Patrik would ended up with overcrowded dungeons. You would be "spared" and ended up producing toys in one of such dreadful places. What started as family feud could end up as a new Hunderd years war. :) Let's make peace, love and understanding instead of bloodshed and toy producing sweatshops that break Geneva conventions. I don't want even to mention cruel and inhumane TicklemaidenTM device for disobedient prisoners.

The Black Knight which is actually my acquaintance skilled in medieval sword fighting techniques and a leader of Knights of Ružica grad (Rosetown), they were extras in productions like "Hercules: The Thracian Wars" and "Game of Thrones" series.

The man in front of first picture in this article is The Black Knight. The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) is below him. Perhaps I can arrange fighting instructions of man personally for you (Not The Rock but The Black Knight). :) Even if you surpass mentors skills you are doomed. I implore you to rethink dueling. Do you want tearful bane of producing teddy bears and being tickled for rest of your natural life?

Yes, this is something like Renaissance fair, although main focus is on medieval times, but also there are later periods represented so I used literal translation from Croatian to describe the event (Srednjovjekovni viteški turnir Jankovac=Medieval Knightly Tournament Jankovac). Here you can see short video from few years ago.

Perhaps most interesting part of event is reconstruction of battle between Turks and their Janissaries on one side and Croatian knights and their christian allies on other side. Jannissaries were elite troops that consisted mostly of abducted and converted christian boys raised to wage wars against their own families and countrymen, later in history there was smaller percentage of those abducted in troops. For my nephews one of most interesting part was of course superb and very funny Trilja IV Jester's performance.

There are also musicians, historical and belly dancers, archers, tournaments, martial arts and weapons showcases, feasts and fire dancers in night... It is happening annually amidst beautiful nature of Nature Park and UNESCO Geopark Papuk near astonishing Jankovac falls (video) and lakes.

Huh! Looks like I learned something new today.
That's a pretty neat-looking festival and a pretty park.

But you have not seen my mighty puzzle-slinging skills!

As for ZeoBold, after that last mighty quest involving 3 dragons, a bungee cord, and an active volcano, we really haven't heard from him. I do wonder what he's up to these days if he really is still alive.

Huh, that's pretty neat! I didn't know these folks went all the way to Croatia.

Looks like I'm going to have to teach Puzzle-Bot to fight better than a dairy farmer.

Also, bump.

I would like to participate! Here's my entry, a samurai drawing which I drew recently.

Thanks for the opportunity! :)

Hope nobody minds if I use this as a platform for showing off a bit :D. Not in, because this was made for another competition, but still. Do tell if you can recognise who it is!

Scaled up 4x for your convenience, and done in EGA (i.e. 15 colours from the 64 EGA palette).

Very pretty! I think I recognize her, the girl from the painting "The Girl with the Pearl Earring", I think?

It was too big to post so I had to link it ;-)
It made me think of an X-wing figured I was with an nerdy enough crowd to get it and whatnot. Feedback on anything is welcome even if you don't like it THANK YOU to Mr. Gold for The GA
