Hello!

He is known as a failed comedian, but he sometimes has his moments. Across all media he has been in, what are some of the funniest things the Joker has done?

From the animated series (90s) -

Two-face: Get out of my face, clown!

Joker: which one?

1989 film -

(Batman foils Joker's parade plot with his bat-plane)

Joker: He stole my balloons! Why didn't anyone tell me he had one of those...things?
The entire fight sequence with Terry at the last act of Return of the Joker was pretty good. While technically it can be said it wasn't the genuine article in terms of his body, that's hardly an issue. And yes, it can be said that Terry gets in the bigger laughs, there's still some good lines from Joker in that fight.

Then there's the revelation that Joker would go up against Batman but he's not so insane that he'd try his luck with the IRS, as seen in the Joker's Millions episode of the New Batman Adventures.

There's also this meeting between Black Mask and the Joker from Under the Red Hood, which ends with Joker wiping out an entire room of armed goons almost effortlessly.

And, of course the iconic sequence at the close of Mask of The Phantasm, where, upon realizing that he's faced with what's a nearly guaranteed death as he's held by Andrea Beaumont, Joker gives in and lets out a laugh as he accepts what's to come.
In terms of being genuinely funny, The Laughing Fish is great, both in comic and animated form. It's a classic. Damn funny, but also quite dark when you get round to it - he is killing people after all, and the fact that it's for a total joke of a reason while at first glance hilarious, also kind of makes it even worse if you think about it.

The hospital explosion form The Dark Knight is a pretty great visual gag, a moment of comedic relief that doesn't break the mood and fits the character to a T.

Nice thread idea....that said:

Not funny perhaps, but when Joker in the new film goes from sad to happy and the iconic stair dance scene happens, it is both uplifting to see(as he's happy), but a bit unsettling(knowing WHY he is happy).

Honestly that above is one of my all time favorite moments in movie cinema history. Especially after his reaction afterwards with Bob.

Dark Knight - Walking away from the hospital, with the delay in the boom.

This, and also the bit where he meets the mob bosses/etc and ridicules them(especially the bit where he tells the one who is obviously pissed at him how he wouldn't be able to get a nickel for his grandma) with seemingly no fear before leaving.

New contribution:

The bit where he smiles and slightly chuckles when with the lady at the end of the film, and when she asks for him to share/what it was, he says "You wouldn't get it" (maybe referring to what happens immediately after that line) before cutting to him walking free in the halls leaving blood prints with his feet.

What likely happened combined with the music playing and how he seems to feel at that moment, it seems to evoke feelings in me similar to watching the stair dance scene....in fact the whole film is peppered with such moments, as we watch the man slowly become happier while devolving into madness.

*End spoilers*

In the Justice League episode where Batman punches him out, and just before the Joker passes out, he delivers Daffy Duck's iconic line: "You're despicable!" Lisp and all.

One of the few times he'd actually ever be used on that series, thanks to the ol' "Bat embargo".

I have yet to see this movie. Past viewing experiences generally point to the Joker being a good character, and Joaquin always plays an interesting character. So I'm looking forward to it :)

Just a head's up...if you're expecting the silliness levels of other jokers(like the campy Adam West Batman Joker) or over the top stuff like other recent films(tons of action, etc), note that this film is more "realistic".

(In that it explores more on if Joker were a normal man going crazy over time in a reality similar to our own)

It is still very good, though, imo.
