Antimateria: no wonder that they didn't release original again before.. Those money hungry persons..
I think if it were just about greed they would have simply slapped the original version together with ScummVM and released it as is.

PimPamPet: So... Psychonauts sequel, Day of the Tentacle remaster, Full Throttle remaster...

Keep on riding that nostalgia wave, Mr. Schafer. Not saying he's wrong to do it, but it does seem a bit much, doesn't it?

Prah: And now with a new series of Twin Peaks and X-files, a new Star Wars and Jurassic Park movie. It's the 90's all over again!
I consider this a good thing, as long as 90s fashion doesn't make a comeback. :D

If this is just like the Day of the Tentacle remaster where they just upscale everything without changing anything at all, I'd be fine with that. I don't think either games really need it, but at least they're not trying to add or change anything like I feel they did with Monkey Island. I'm still wondering if there's going to be any issues with the soundtrack, it's Gone Jackals or nothing for me.
Good news.. ish. I do wonder how it's going to look though. Personally I don't have a problem with the remaster of DOTT. It might if anything highlight the lack of detail in the original art, but it still has the same quirky stylised charm.

Full Throttle on the other hand was very much more of its era and defined by limitations as much as anything. It's going to need a much more comprehensive graphical overhaul.

wolfsite: Some fans did a "remake" about 10 years ago if you want to try that one.

There's also the Maniac Mansion remake in the works that uses similar graphical style with DOTT. It's been in the work for a quite a while now and if they really do anything on it at the moment.

Maniac Mansion is Day of the Tentacles?

I wish they would release The Curse of Monkey Islands the way it is now, not remastered.
so that means no release of the classic full throttle on gog?
As with every remastered Lucas Arts game, this one will also have the option to switch to the original graphics. Apart from older systems not being able to run the new remastered versions, I don't understand the "oh no, not another remaster" attitude. I for one am really happy to see one of my absolute favorite adventure games getting a new lease on life with a remastered version.

Well, its better than nothing, :D

I would have preferred a simple re-release, plus 2017 is so far away :(

It is indeed the game that you can play on Weird Ed's PC in Day of the Tentacle, as an easter egg, but it is a full-fledged point & click adventure game that was originally released on its own.
In fact, it was LucasArts' (then LucasFilm Games) first "real" P&C adventure, even the name of their famous SCUMM engine stands for "Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion".
I loved Maniac Mansion and Full Throttle back in the day. Such nostalgia!
