DubConqueror: Out of curiosity I opened the Origin client just now and am offered to install the EA App without any opt-out option. The pop-up to install the EA App blocks access to anything else in the Origin client and on top of that warns me that if I install the EA App, Origin will be deinstalled, but there isn't ANY option given to NOT install the EA App (but for closing the Origin program and using neither, thus blocking access to my EA games).
tyl0413: If you add <Setting key="MigrationDisabled" type="1" value="true"/> to your C:\ProgramData\Origin\local.xml you can keep Origin.
The workaround doesn't seem to work no more? Last week I managed to keep Origin on my Windows 10 desktop from 'upgrading' to the EA App, but right now on my Windows 11 gaming laptop, I can't keep the forced update from me, not after adding <Setting key="MigrationDisabled" type="1" value="true"/> to local.xml like I did on my desktop, not when I do it as admin, not when I reinstall Origin and opt to NOT auto-update in the installation menu, the EA App keeps forcing itself to me? I'll have to check at home if my Windows 10 desktop still manages to keep the EA App away, but right now I'm really pissed at EA for pushing this turd up my mouth.
