Thanks for the code-line. I deinstalled the EA App and reinstalled Origin. I only got the install completed by doing it from an admin account, but now I got Origin running again and Crysis 3 runs again as well.

As of today, Bulletstorm's name appeared in the App, but still no image (no idea if the game version changed in any way, most certainly not).

C&C Tiberian Sun's name finally appeared as well, though its image has been there for a long time already.

Edit: Installed Tiberian Sun just to check it out, it runs, but is pretty broken. A lot of menus simply don't show up. From PC gaming wiki, I think there are community patches for that, but I uninstalled without checking it out.

The workaround doesn't seem to work no more? Last week I managed to keep Origin on my Windows 10 desktop from 'upgrading' to the EA App, but right now on my Windows 11 gaming laptop, I can't keep the forced update from me, not after adding <Setting key="MigrationDisabled" type="1" value="true"/> to local.xml like I did on my desktop, not when I do it as admin, not when I reinstall Origin and opt to NOT auto-update in the installation menu, the EA App keeps forcing itself to me? I'll have to check at home if my Windows 10 desktop still manages to keep the EA App away, but right now I'm really pissed at EA for pushing this turd up my mouth.

I posted yesterday that the workaround didn't function on my Windows 11 gaming laptop. Today on my Windows 10 desktop where I had used the workaround to keep Origin, the workaround ceased to function too and the EA App is forced up my rear, even though Crysis 3 crashes, I can't pick my library as my homepage in the App, I can't resize the icons, I can't hide games I don't want to play no more. I hate EA and their dishonesty claiming "We hebben geluisterd naar jullie feedback en erkennen de beperkingen van dit platform in een snel evoluerend entertainmentlandschap." (translated:) We have listened to your feedback and recognize the limitations of this platform in a rapidly evolving entertainment landscape. The EA App is FAR MORE LIMITING than Origin ever was. Evil Assholes.

Screenshotting bc the obvious thing trips the filter but it's legit it, I use it, it works.

The only known workaround for the Crysis 3 crashes is to start the "EA Desktop" app as an administrator, and your mileage will probably still vary.
