There has been an update… Did you download it?

This is exactly the kind of news one wants to wake up to, isn't it? Thea: The Awakening, the turn-based strategy/RPG inspired by Slavic mythology, just became bigger, more accessible, and even more stable, thanks to the free DLC Return of the Giants that was released today.

Here's what's added:
- Localization to German, French, Polish and Russian
- 70 new events
- Events Editor that lets you create your own stories and share them with others
- Full English voiceover
- Additional buildings, items, and item quality modifiers
- New music tracks and artwork
- Tons of improvements and fixes

Take a look at it in all its audiovisual glory:

Avee_MuHaGames: As for running a sale - discounts will come eventually as the game gets older ;) But since the DLC is a rather big, and most importantly free, we have decided not to discount it at the moment.
Thanks for responding!

One question: since you now allow people to create their own stories, how do they share them here on GOG?

You should host a little something and let others upload them ;)
I have a big problem. I downloaded the new installer and used it. Now when I start a game, the camera is flying towards one of the edges of the map and I can't stop it. If I start yet another new game, the camera is still flying away from the center. This time to another corner. I thought the keyboard or the mouse could have had a problem, but they are functioning normal.

I cannot play the game like this... o.O

Do you have a controller plugged in? Not sure if the game has controller support but if you do have a controller plugged in, unplug it and see if it helps :)

We really have no resources to handle a website with a repository of stories, but once there is interest in sharing them in the community, they would float around on various websites like mods for other games. At least that's how we imagine it ;)

Thanks for the advice! It worked. The camera is now focused at the centre if I unplug my joystick. But when I plug it in again, the camera moves and doesn't stop despite the fact that the joystick is centred and that it wasn't causing any problems before the update :/

At least I can play now. :D

nexusmod seems like a good place, once you have a working mod.

Avee_MuHaGames: Linux version is available on Steam. Though we do not officially support it, seems that players are using it without issues.

...

We did not release Mac or Linux builds on GOG as it would be difficult for us to support it and track any bugs on these OSes.
Games like this I prefer to play on my laptop rather than my desktop.... it'll be especially good for my transatlantic flight in a couple of months.

The laptop is, however, Linux.

I prefer to get my games on GOG over Steam where possible. Given you don't officially support the Steam linux build anyway could you please provide a linux build to GOG - even as an extra and non-official thing.

If this is added I'll definitely pick up the game but with it Windows only on here it's of less interest.

Thanks

We'll see what can be done, though just so you know - wherever you buy the game from, it is DRM free. You can play offline, copy the game where you want and run it without issues or any need for online connection.
Thanks for your replies & presence on the message-board :)

Really only logged in quickly to say that to you.

Seeing as you guys were kind enough to upload that linux build for free to OneDrive and the reports on reddit are that it runs well under wine I picked it up here ...

The videos looked interesting - looking forward to firing it up :)

That's not to say that if you upload a native linux version to here I'd be upset to see it of course ;)

Russonc: Price is right! :-}
Even certain tightarses on here (who i shall not name) cant complain about that :P
Developers Updating their games is always welcome.

One day I'll have time to play (have bought it already). Not this month. I'm the only business as usual guy left in my section at work while everyone is on leave for the next 2 weeks or so. Already starting to eat into my free time to get the workload done.

Anyone else finds their work interferes with important gaming time :)

That's why I got a job here so I can "test" games while at work :P
