GG mentioned GOG Connect offering AI War 2 for those with AI War in their Steam account but Connect found nothing new for me since a few months back....

The point of Connect is to get a GOG version of a game that you have on Steam. It's not about getting free games. If you want AI War 2 on GOG through Connect then you'd need to have bought it on Steam.

You misunderstood what GOG wrote in their news post. There are currently 3 offers for AI War 2 on GOG:

*) AI War 2 is 40% off for everyone.

*) AI War 2 is 55% off for people who own AI War (with or without DLCs) on GOG.

*) GOG Connect: If you have AI War 2 on Steam you get it on GOG. This is for people who have bought AI War 2 through Kickstarter or Steam Early Access while it wasn't available on GOG but would prefer to have it here.

Since you only have AI War (and not AI War 2) on Steam you only qualify for the 40% off.

GOG Connect is only ever game for game. You need to have AI War 2 on Steam to get it through Connect, just like with every other game that's ever been on connect.

It would be nice if they GOG Connected AI War 1 at the same time so you could get the first one on GOG and qualify for the discount.
