Greetings.

When does a thread get moved to the Archive forum? My Favourites are making browsing this forum taking more time each week. Is this still a project GOG?
This question / problem has been solved by Maighstirimage
As far as I know, threads have only been moved once. When the archive was introduced on May 1, 2015 (I think?) and any thread that hadn't been posted in since December 31, 2014 was moved. After that, I'm quite sure nothing whatsoever have happened with the archive.

EDIT: Oh, so it was May 26?

Last year, the archival occurred on 26 May and it affected any thread which didn't receive a post in 2015. I imagine something similar should happen this year as well.

Edit: Not 26 May, but 16 May.

No, 16 May.

So the 16th of may 2016 every thread not being posted in after 1st of january 2016 will get archived if the trend holds?

Edit: Changed may date from 26 to 16.

Maybe? Maybe GOG figured they got too much backlash when links broke and people couldn't find their favourite old threads anymore so they decided not to run the archival again?

Also, since we only have a single data point, there is nothing to call a trend yet.

Grargar: No, 16 May.
You should have said that before my edit, now I'm the one looking like a fool for trusting false information. :-P

I realized my mistake and edited my post before I saw that you edited your post as well. :P

Yes those are also reasons why I asked. It feels like another Archive event is drawing near so we might have to start preparing. Bump threads we want to keep alive, think about the link problem and so on.
Kinda hoping for word from a blue on this.

Edit: But Trend is such a nice word! Yeah I did the classical error of using a word because it felt like it fit without thinking about its meaning. The thoughts and language link is stuff for endless debate and research. :)

I'm hoping for Possibly to change to Yes or No or This by creating this thread. :)

1. You don't talk about archiving.

Exactly. "No news is no news."

Eh. After last year's archiving was announced to be coming, there were a lot of threads being bumped that there was no reason anyone should need to post in again. People acted as if they were going to be deleted or something.
