HypersomniacLive: I'm sorry you had such a tiring week and day.. I was just trying to make sure I actually understand what you're saying; I didn't think it'd be such a bothersome thing, but perhaps I was wrong. I hope you're in a better mood than you were a couple of days ago.
Yeah, sorry exploding like this. I just couldn't go over the same thing (this has actually been happening in the past few days at the office as well) again to a point where I was even sure what we are talking about anymore.
HypersomniacLive: I have no idea who Jill or Joe Armstrong is supposed to hint at/be within the context of our setup. The only Joe Armstrong that a quick search produced is an American punk-rock musician (with Joe being his middles name), but I highly doubt anything about him is relevant to our game.
That I saw as well, but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with anything and all others bear make at least some sense in the context of what we know so far.
HypersomniacLive: What do you think it all means?
That we have killers on the loose who are not killing for whatever reason. Execution was probably yog in which case flavor about crime scenes and positioning may not be as simple and direct as I thought it was.
HypersomniacLive: What makes you believe they may have been blocked, and why blocked specifically?
I haven't put my mind to it to work the actual numbers but on quick glance I don't think the math checks out with the amount of kill styles (I'm inclined to assume that each distinct kill style represents a different culprit) and the flipped killers (solid mafia or quotes). Blocked as in actually blocked, prevented, doctored, soaked and so on.
HypersomniacLive: Not sure how to read this. It sounds like you had knowledge of bler144's role name, and since N1/D2.
I butchered what I meant here. I wasn't referring to bler's name since I learned that with the reveal. What I knew beforehand was that there are fictional characters in the game.
HypersomniacLive: Why were you hoping for HijacK to provide the name of a fictional character as his role name? And what do you mean with the bit I highlighted?
See the previous answer. Highlighted bit is just a play on words. At the time Hijack revealed I was hoping for a fictional name which would have made me believe his claim more. Then I realized that Trent's flip actually mitigates any question towards Hijack's alignment, so not sharing a fictional name actually prevented me from being more believable to the claim.
HypersomniacLive: Is it? What about the name trentonlf shared? And what about yogsloth's name which was revealed by the Elders/mod? Is that also the name of a real person, and if yes, who is that person?
I have actually missed the whole Mechanic reveal about yogsloth. I see that you even commented on it but I guess the birthday wish took my attention and I didn't read that paragraph.
Trent I saw and I even thought there might be something bastardy about his role based on the premise of the movie his character is from but then I totally blanked out about it. So yes, Blain isn't the first official reveal after all, but at the time I wrote what it wrote I thought it was.
It wasn't that much of a detection tool rather than a small bit that may have made me believe someone a bit more that they are truthful about their role given that the public domain information only showcased a real live tv personality.
HypersomniacLive: You say it should be safe to assume that everything trentonlf said was true, yet you seem not to trust what he said, or at least selectively trust things he said. Why?
I believe Trent believed what he was saying but we still don't know for a fact there wasn't something bastardy about it - we know for a fact there was a discrepancy with the quotes that has to mean something.
HypersomniacLive: I assume that, after the latest reveal, you're counting Bookwymr627 as one. Who else are you counting in this group?
I counted all quotes/mafia flips as killers and added at least one more who is not accounted for (unless JMich David Carradined himself which I highly doubt). Then I counted the non-quotes Neutrals who are 3. I didn't even pay attention to the names but now that you made me go back and count again I saw that docbear who was the murderous woman actually doesn't have quotes.
HypersomniacLive: Do you mean there may be no remaining town powers, or something else?
I mean that the only pure Town flip at the moment is Trent's and we have most people dead already. I kind of doubt we are so lucky or so on-point that we (and the scum too) are missing every Town player in the game. Given how many non-town players we seem to have we were either screwed from the get-go or we have something to balance it out. Trent's role doesn't seem like the main carry especially knowing that there may have been something fishy with his investigations. Bulletproof-ness helps a bit, I guess.
And there are more Town power(s) in play. The game is still going and it's also a role madness.
