trentonlf: @dedo, You keep asking everyone's opinion on Lift, what is your opinion?
avatar
dedoporno: I don't like his exchange with drealmer. Especially how easy he backed off. And how easy he jumped on the next person. And how he backed off of Yog earlier. In general I'm getting a vibe from I don't really like. His pushes seem a bit soft, shallow almost as if they're just there for show. I may be mistaken, of course, and it may be genuine scum-hunting but I can't help the weird feeling.

On different note something important happened to which I don't know how to react to at this point without risking shooting us in the foot...
Did someone mention Foot Vigilante??

Bookwyrm627: ...................

Matter of fact, Unvote and Vote Bookwyrm, until I'm caught up.
Shirley you jest....
avatar
HypersomniacLive: ...........snip>...........

I didn't say that it is outright scummy, in and of itself. I said that it's eyebrow raising when read in a certain context. And I can see that angle. While you claim that you can't. It is your reaction that gives me a scum vibe more than anything else - you're not simply replying and explaining yourself, you're downplaying the fact that I may read something unfavourable for you into it arguing "look people, these are such ridiculous arguments that town-HypersomniacLive would never ever entertain them, thus he may well be scum attempting to frame poor town-me".

...........snip>...........
I know town-HypersomniacLive and scum-HypersomniacLive are both very clever.

avatar
HypersomniacLive: I think that Bookwyrm627 needs to include both HijacK and Lifthrasil to the non-native English speakers that read the posts of native English speakers in a head-scratching way. That, or something else may be going on here. More so regarding Hijack since he's studying in the US for a couple of years now, i.e. I expect him to have a better understanding and command of the language.
avatar
HijacK: Such aggressiveness.... And unwarranted one. At the risk of sounding like a hypocrite, I don't like you. I prefer the HSL of old times.
And thank you very much, but I understood drealmer's question the first time. I only later figured out why people are confused about him. You see, it looked basic the first time I read it, just like it does now. Drealmer inquired whether gamma will be scum in a game that he is playing in as well. He did not ask if they are going to be scum together. I got that the first time, but I don't think you carefully read my post, which makes me raise an eyebrow since you're someone that is supposed to be thorough. (behavior observation)

...........<snip>...............
I think HypersomniacLive is thorough to a fault.

His ability to scrutinize and pressure has worked well for him. This is why I don't fall so easily into his persistent questioning as a town tell.
avatar
HypersomniacLive: ..................

Also, did drealmer7 actually call Lifthrasil "over-zealous scum" for simply pressuring him? The way I read that part of drealmer7's post #146, he called Lifthrasil that for the bit he quoted from the latter's post #98.
I have no idea why dreamler calls people names.

My days of PCP induced hallucination are over.

avatar
HypersomniacLive: This will be in reverse order, and won't cover everything, as I'm pretty tired.

First off - @yogsloth and @Sage103082, pretty good case on docbear1975. The things you point out had not gone unnoticed, and after dedoporno's latest prod, I was waiting to see if she'd come back and with what. It's interesting that she seems to have showed up right or shortly after you made the case (GOG's non-existing timestamps don't help here, again).
..................
/emphasis added

When I read docbear1975's post this was my first reaction as well.

RWarehall: Current votes:
flubbucket - Bookwyrm627
Is this correct? Per post 231 and which ever post I voted myself, I shouldn't be voting anyone at the moment.
avatar
trentonlf: Don't shoot us in the foot.
avatar
dedoporno: I don't want to either. I'm thinking about how to approach it Today even though maybe it's better left for Tomorrow. I'll think about it some more...
So you are sure you'll be here tomorrow.

Fascinating.

I'm kinda hoping I don't get killed tonight.
avatar
flubbucket: I'm kinda hoping I don't get killed tonight.
That reads a bit LAMISTy !
avatar
flubbucket: So you are sure you'll be here tomorrow.
I like how you didn't even make this a question, but a rock-solid statement. You even took the time to add that emphasis to express my position even more clearly. Good job!

Am I required to pay for your services, now that you took the initiative to speak on my behalf or is it pro bono?

avatar
flubbucket: I'm kinda hoping I don't get killed tonight.
You are always Town, so I can see why that can be a concern, yes.
@bler, I have docbear middle of the road because she's has mostly flown under the radar and I have not noticed anything noteworthy from her.

@dedo, Gamma really irritates me with his nonchalant I don't care attitude so I'll just post every couple of days. He did the same thing last game, and if he's town again he is hurting us more than helping us. If he doesn't change what he's doing I will push for his lynch because he's an liability for town and if he's scum he's trying to win by posting so little no one notices him.

As for cristi it remains to be seen. I know RL has limited her involvement so far so I'm waiting to see what she posts today.
avatar
cristigale: I'm a couple pages back. I did see bookwyrm's question on why my vote is still on HijacK.
I'm pretty sure you've got the wrong person here.
I seem to be in the wrong time zone for this game. When I'm here, there is hardly any activity. But each morning, there are lots of posts to catch up with! I think dedo, HSL and I are the only non US players around. I should look for a conference in the US I can fly to! :-D
avatar
Lifthrasil: snip
Why are you ignoring me?
avatar
flubbucket: So you are sure you'll be here tomorrow.

Fascinating.

I'm kinda hoping I don't get killed tonight.
The sass is next level. Bonus points for pointing that out. It looks different, now that I've seen it again.
I'm here very briefly, but getting on a plane in a few hours and trying to get put together for my trip.

Afraid I'm not going to be totally useful.

I am curious though:

bler - why don't you agree with my case? It's a thin-on-the-ground, no-actions-yet Day 1 case. What's your take, then?

And why, knowing me, would you think I don't believe my own case? Because newsflash: I'm at like, 95% right now. doc's reaction is muy poopoo.
avatar
Lifthrasil: I seem to be in the wrong time zone for this game. [...]. I should look for a conference in the US I can fly to! :-D
Better hurry lest you miss half of N1 co-ordinating with your buddies in scum-chat.

On a (more?) serious note, yeah, it's extremely difficult to play live when the vast majority of players reside on the other side of the pond.
What's even worse though, is that, unless someone works the night-shift or suffers from insomnia, it's impossible to be around at EOD when the deadlines are set in the very early (for us Europeans) morning hours (04:00 - 06:00). As is the case this game due to RWarehall working second shift. Which means that the Days practically end several hours earlier for us, and that we can't act on discussions/events/twists that tend to happen during EOD should they have an influence on our reads/votes.

Off to catch up on everything since I last was on. Will most likely take quite a while as I got work I need to finish today.
avatar
bler144: That said, I'm more reminded of the first dungeon game where both RW and I were town role cops. One of many ways whoever that mod was threw town a curve.
Either I don't know what you are talking about or you really need to get your memory checked, because I seem to recall that there was only one role cop in that game. There was a cop, a role cop, a stat cop, and the Greatest Of All Cops.

avatar
bler144: If !town-you flips, he's drawn attention he didn't need (investigatory or otherwise)
One of the popular scum powers is Godfather, and this is role madness.

avatar
flubbucket: Shirley you jest....
Who is Shirley and why is he joking?

-----

I've been pondering the brou-ha-ha around Lift/Drealmer.

-Lift's vote has been bouncing around like a racquet ball in a court filled hyperactive kids. I think some of the arguments against him are misplaced, but he does have the feel of "anything that might stick".

-Drealmer has made the kind of pushes I expect from him, but credit where it is due, he's also made some good points among the noise. His activity level bothers me.

-HSL has a sharp stick and he's been free about using it. I can't tell which team he's pushing for, however.

Unrelated commentary:
-Docbear hasn't done much more than Gamma; her posts reek of "afraid to say the wrong thing", which could easily be overwhelmed newbie town. While I don't fault others for going here, the case is incredibly easy. Except for that bit about "oh, she showed up right after someone went for her"; that particular reason against her is a load of bollocks as far as I'm concerned.

-Hijack feels kind of fluffy. He's got a lot of words, but he isn't really saying a whole lot with them. I need to ISO him to double check this impression; it might simply be the calm demeanor is misleading me.

-----

Sorting players, and I end up with 4 piles.

No interest in lynching at this time:
bler144
yogsloth
trentonlf
dedoporno

Something here, want to see it play out:
Lifthrasil
drealmer7
HypersomniacLive

Unsure about town alignment:
Sage103082
Flubbucket
HijacK

Currently not worth saving:
cristigale
docbear1975
GammaEmerald

The groups themselves are roughly sorted in order of Least To Most willing to lynch, while the names within each group are unordered.

I expect Cristi to climb out of the Not Worth Saving group before End Of Day; this group is a simple fall back for lack of a better candidate. I don't expect to get much out of the lynch except a dead player and hopefully incentive to the rest to work a little harder so they aren't next.

I don't have a case against Sage, Flub, or Hijack, just a sense of unease. I could vote here just fine, but none of them sticks out more than the others.
