GamezRanker: Sounds good....also good news about your kittuh being in remission...tis good to hear :)
Noooo.... He's out of remission, which means going back to testing blood glucose twice a day and insulin shots.

Catventurer: Saturday is going to be a busy day as my cat is out of remission for diabetes.

Sage103082: Good luck! It sounds like you know exactly what you're doing. Been there giving diabetes injections and feel for you. Your kitty is lucky to have someone like you taking care of him/her/
He's not my first cat with diabetes. Fortunately, Walgreens will open up the insulin pen boxes and sell one pen only, which is cheaper than the insulin vials. The biggest expense ends up being the test strips.

Ah, my mistake. Still, I hope their health stays decent enough and you continue to have many more good moments and memories with your feline friend in the future(despite their health concerns).

Until I can get test strips again, it's going to be lots of monitoring after insulin shots for signs of low blood sugar. The thing to watch for is if he shakes or has tremors, then give karo syrup (which is a sugar syrup) and call the vet office. If it is after hours, take to the 24-hour ER vet. Fortunately, both his regular vet and the ER vet are about 5 minutes from my house. I really want the test strips because he did go into remission for over a year, where his blood sugar levels were too low to be giving him shots.

Anyway, I'm going to be super duper lazy poster (and not just lazy poster) until further notice because I'm going to actually be busy. Mom went into the ER and is being kept overnight at the hospital. Besides my cat, I have all of her stuff to take care of as well so busy. She might be undergoing minor surgery, which will still have recovery time.... so even when she's out, busy for a while.

Anyway it's 12:30 am. I finally get to go to bed now. My cat didn't eat enough food to be given the evening shot, so next is in the morning.
