Strijkbout: If only.... Space Channel 5.
Technically...you can play SP5 Part II on PC. But not the first part.

Hardware.

The PS4 and XB1 utilize the x86 CPU architecture, the same as what powers most PC platforms. Previous console generations had specially tailored hardware - which in turn, made it more difficult to translate a game's code to another platform. For this generation, both major consoles and PCs are functionally the same - making it quite easy to port.

Sabin_Stargem: Hardware.
More like getting a nice chunk of money for relatively little effort since they figured out prior console-exclusives actually sell reasonably well on PC despite their age, i.e. Valkyria Chronicles, Dragon's Dogma, Final Fantasy, etc...

What's going on with the games industry, releasing all the console gems that we've been watching from afar for years? What a twist in fate indeed.
Unfortunately, not all of them. I'm still waiting for Devil May Cry 1, Ninja Gaiden, Castlevania SotN and Silent Hill 1.

But on topic. Unlocked framerate - they are learning ;-). I wonder how they will handle the mouse controls though. MGRR had horrible negative mouse acceleration.

Ouch. That list is so good it hurts. Can't conceive why Ninja Gaiden isn't on the pc while its relatively uknown cousin is.. ;P

I know, the first part has cuter enemies.

onarliog: Finally some worthy successors to DMC 3 on PC. I am happy.
Is it your opinion that it's a successor or is it essentially a sequel in gameplay but no in name? I'm asking because I'm mildly interesting in Vanquish but I can't stand the combat in DMC games.

But Koei Tecmo has still a long way ahead of them when it comes to PC ports. They completely butchered (feature wise) PC port of Dead or Alive 5.
But it's good to see something changing in Japanese mentality when it comes to PC gaming. Even the new Tekken is finally coming to PC and that franchise has been around for more than 20 years.

Definitely. Those ports are notorious for butchering and seeing the newest Tekken gave me hope.
One step up would be to bring the Shibusawa 80s titles to the west, once and for all.

(Hear me, Artdink? Titles... west... ;P)
Well, if these games are not really selling anymore on console ...

It makes no sense to keep a game locked to a system, whether PC or console, if nobody is actually buying the game on that system anymore. It's a waste of good games.

Vanquish though, easily one of my favourite console exclusives; non-stop awesome sci-fi action.

To me DMC is more like a God of War game, an action-platformer thing with lots of melee/sword fighting.

Vanquish is an old-school shooter, there's no platforming or melee, you just shoot lots of robots and cyborgs.

This is the best review of the game, by ClassicGameRoom.

Then I might like it, I'll take a look at the video.

Yeah, Vanquish is nothing like the DMC series, I don't know what I was thinking when posting that.

Well, actually, I know, I was still thinking about Bayonetta because it is so damn good!
