AzureKite: Though I think that these games aren't really that great (FF X seemed pretty weak to me story-wise) it's good that they're being ported to a newer hardware. Some people do like them. I couldn't bring myself to like any Final Fantasy past FF VIII.

paladin181: TAKE IT BACK!! IX is the best thing EVAR!!!

Or something. I liked IX, probably my second favorite FF game behind FFVI. I liked how all the characters were strong and none of them stood out as really being a main character. The bait and switch at the end though was just meh. At least in VI and VII we were fairly sure who the bad guy was all the way through.
Honestly, I couldn't force myself to like _any_ of the characters in the story. Most of all the main character (I mean, come on, he's basically stupid footballer dude in ridiculous outfit). Plus, the English voice acting was bad. And I've heard a lot of VO for jRPGs.

thk47: Is't the regular edition or the International one? oh didn't care much for FF X-2 thought hope they sell in separate product.
They will hopefully be separate with both the original and international game options. I like both for XII, and International does keep you from building a monster powerhouse party with massive HP AND massive skill/magic/physical damage on everyone.

NuffCatnip: But...but...the story of Final Fantasy X is amazing. :(

Nah, joke aside I have to agree, I didnt play it for the story (I didnt even play FF VII for the story...Im sorry :( ), but the gameplay is amazing, well in my oppinion at least. ^^
Exactly. FFX was awesome because of the monster arena, the Sphere Grid, Blitzball, the Aeons and all the stuff you could do along the way. The story wasn't that important.

I won't touch Final Fantasy X-2 ever again. The game was stupid as shit and became extremely boring after beating the Black Elemental on the 40th floor of this IDon'tEvenKnowAnymoreDungeon -.- You got this Cat-something item that made every hit a 9999 when your character had low HP. Together with first strike and this ability that let you shot 10+ times in one round, the game became abolutely pointless. Most enemies died in the first seconds of a battle, bosses survived until they got hit a second time. A party of three squeaky girls (okay, two squeaky girls + Paine), Sailor Moon flashbacks (changing the costumes), non-existant story, lame gameplay... Nope, I don't want this oO

XII just fine, even i couldn't finished since my ps2 died. I think XII was the best graphic games back then but not so much for X-2...I mean Square just screw up Yuna and Rikku. Haven't played the International, I've seen on youtube all Dark-Aeon battles seem frustrating. after all I'm looking forward to any FF remake on PC.

FFX's strength lies in it's excellent combat system and anything related there to. I completely agree that in terms of characters and story the game is a complete trainwreck. With the exception of Auron, everyone is irritating in one way or another, but Tidus... holy hell, I have never seen a more insufferable protagonist.

Interesting...

To be honest the PS2 version was good, and on an emulator you can get higher resolution... I just have to wonder how big the game(s) will be. Considering the size of video games as of recent, i'd almost prefer the lower resolution since it won't be insanely huge. The weakest part of the PS2 version is during certain cutscenes the floating point makes it shakier... aside from that...
