I don't like packet ham (as in the reformed sliced crap you buy in shops), but if you get a joint and cook it yourself it's one of my favourite things. Boiled in cider and then roasted with a honey mustard glaze. Mmmmmm

As for pineapple on pizza.. it is wrong. Pineapple should never be put on pizza. Unfortunately most of the world seems to disagree with me as (I make pizza for a living) it's one of our best sellers. I think everyone here might be clinically insane, that would explain it.

And MMORPGs. I've never actually played one. I think I played WoW for ten minutes once. Back when I had the time to devote to something like that I didn't have money to afford a subscription or a decent internet connection so I never got into them. Now I have no time to engage in an MMORPG, plus I have no friends I would play with and I'm very anti social so that aspect doesn't appeal.
That being said, I'm currently playing Xenoblade Chronicles X on Wii U and it feels quite like an offline MMORPG. A lot of the quests are similar to what P1na described, there's a lot of pointless running around etc.
But the story and characters (while nowhere near as good as the first game) are pretty interesting, I actually quite enjoy grinding, combat is quite challenging and tactical and the world is so stunning and beautifully detailed that it's a joy to explore. I can see why you would dislike it (or a similar kind of game), particularly if the story or characters didn't grab you (as I imagine they don't really in any MMORPG) but I've always quite enjoyed open world games that give me some freedom to roam and explore and enjoy the world.
ham... what kind of ham? there are lots of type of ham here (Parma, Cotto, Speck, Mortadella etc...).
Anyway what I like about MMO is the combact system and class system. I think use skills and buff with a keyboard and move in a 3D world with lots of dungeon and people it's funny for some time. Also there are some mmo where you can choose class, and I really like job system (that's also why ff3 is one of my favourite game).

But... I cannot play mmo anymore for few reason:
1. In-app purchase.
2. grinding.
3. story suck.
4. too much time waste.
5. pay for a game that you cannot complete (not always but for lots of mmo it's true).
6. pay for always online.

If you don't like mmo, that's fine... if you don't like ham, that's also fine (I don't like fish).

PS. pineapple in a pizza... WTF. here nobody would buy that shit.

bler144: Oglaf made fun of MMO quests last week. A lot of what he posts is NSFW, but that one's fairly clean.
Surprisingly, considering the rest of the strip...I'd probably call Oglaf the Alice & Wonderland of adult comics... (Those that don't understand me... well, better you don't :P )

ET3D: I think that "I don't get X" is good enough to leave it at that. People have different tastes and different things appeal to them.
cant argue with this
saying that you dont like something because of this should be good enough instead of being questions and told that your doing it wrong

i hate cheese and i loath pokemon and morrowind for example
and those are my opinions forcing me to try again to reconsider wont help me to like them
it has the opposite effect i will like them even less

JMich: MMOs are fun because you play them with other people. Not strangers, you play MMOs with your friends, as something to pass the time while talking. Story and single player content (as much as there might be) is to pass the time while waiting for your friends to join in.

Think of MMOs as a big LAN party where everyone plays the same game (eg UT). You go there with your friends, set up in a place you like, and pass the time. Every now and then someone you don't know (or some of you don't know) will join in, then move on again.

The story and mechanics of an MMO is just the hook, to draw the player in. A player may be more compelled to join a game exploring Middle Earth than Generic Fantasy World 53, or he may prefer a twitchy MMO to a more laid back one.

But the reason you play an MMO is because you play with friends.
You probably sum it up the best. MMO's are really built even from back in the day as a social experience. People can lone wolf if (and succeed) but there is something lacking when you do that. I tried it.
I personally tried a few MMO's over the last few years -- the only one's which i even remotely liked (and never spent much $$ on them at all) -- E.V.E and Secret World. Latter has the best story (for what it is) and its skill system is a bit different. E.V.E is a bit grindy but for those of us who like Elite etc..its great .
I dont have many friends who play MMOs anymore (not that i was ever really into them) -- but having friends play at the same time makes experience bit more enjoyable since many MMOs have similar game mechanics/story etc. The one issue is a lot of them are fun initially when there are heaps of people playing --- but many game servers later on have a huge dropoff in population (Planetside.....)....

So yes having friends play the game with makes it an infinitely much more enjoyable experience....
SYNCHRONICITY!

My partner and I have been trudging through the TV show Medium (it started out okay, got a bit better, and then went downhill and got really bad, but, we're determined to finish it regardless), and last night we put on the next episode while I made dinner. The first scene started off with a representation of brain cancer cells taking over the brain/driving out the good cells. The cancer cells were played by 1 actor who kept replicating, and once there were a bunch of them around, one called out to order pizza, PINEAPPLE pizza.
