Themken: 0.4.5 I would not want to play as it still had performance problems, meaning processing turns could take a long time.

eiii: Are the performance problems special to 0.4.5? I haven't played any newer version yet, but I've played 0.4.4 a lot on a Core 2 system and do not remember much problems.
To be honest, I do not know :-( as I never got far enough in the game before version 0.4.6 for it to be a problem. Processing turn 300 when you have 2/3 of the galaxy and the last remaining enemy has the rest is what is heavy.

Yes, single player works fine but multi-player works fine too and the simplified combat means no one hour to solve all combat in mp matches. The AI is functional but not perfect but then, the AI in MoO2 is a lot worse in comparision.

I feel a bit funny here as I am no super expert on this game but I did read up and have played through one game recently all the way to total victory.

When I tried it last time (5 years back?) then the AI was not capable of anything yet, so I think I will try again now :) Thanks!
