From PC or Console. My favorite genre is the action Hack and Slash. My favorite title is Metal Gear Rising mainly because of Blade Mode. I wish it had stuff like survival mode though like DMC and Ninja Gaiden. What about you?
Action RPGs, to the point that most traditional RPGs are ruined for me.

My favorite is probably even fully aware of the jank, Squaresoft's legendary Secret of Mana.

Metal Gear Rising is a spectacle fighter, like the others you mentioned, not an "action hack and slash".
Spectacle Fighters are a sub-sub genre of ARPG under JRPG, under Console RPG.
While H'n'S games are a sub-sub genre ARPG under Computer RPG.
They're not similar at all.

My favorite genres and games:
H'n'S: Harbinger//Grim Dawn
4X: Distant Worlds Universe//Sword of the Stars
WRPG: Fallout 2//Arcanum of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
STACS: Freelancer//Escape Velocity Nova
Immersive Sim: Deus Ex (1)

Harder to define:
City-builder//Survival-Builder//Management
Terraria//Darkout
Anno 1404//Startopia
Rimworld//Factorio

I place the so-called "action RPGs" into a different slot; they can be really fun (assuming they're generally good games and not kuso garbage), but they do not fill the RPG itch/role for me. So, while many of my favorite games may be action games with RPG elements (like Final Fantasy Adventure and, yes, Secret of Mana (which I haven't played in a very long time, even though I do have recent legal access via the SNES Classic)), they won't do when I'm looking for an RPG to play.

For me, my favorite genre is turn-based RPGs, with an emphasis on Wizardry-likes (though I dislike the permadeath aspects of early Wizardry) and SaGa-likes. I don't like to choose a specific favorite game, but one of my favorites that fits into one of these subgenres is the original SaGa, oddly enough. (If only there would be more RPGs with length and pacing similar to SaGa 1, especially in the indie scene which I feel would be well suited to such games.) I do happen to really like Final Fantasy 5, but it fits in neither category.

oh wait thats not true :P

RPG-s Wizardry 8, Planescape Torment
Favorite genre: Isometric RPGs. Fave game: Baldurs Gate 2.

Yeah, I know it's a cliched pick, but I haven't seen anything that has surpassed it in 20 years ...
I like many different genres, but always have had a special feeling for TBS... Of that specific genre, the first Age of Wonders will always have a place in my heart (although Planetfall also made me regain faith in the franchise)
I like many genres, those are among my favorites:

CRPG: Fallout
Adventure: Grim Fandango
Beat'em up/JRPG: Yakuza (PS2)
FPS: Dark Forces / Jedi Knight (all series) / Outlaws
Simulation: Sim City (2000 to 4)
RPG/Simulation/whatever: Stardew Valley
Racing: Hang-on / Super Hang-on (arcade)
Platform: 2D Sonic (most of Mega drive and Master System titles) / Rayman Origins

edit: almost forgot: Cave Story, a masterpiece

I'm torn between two genres:

Strategy: Civilization IV
Adventure: The Secret of Monkey Island
I forgot to mention;

Metroidvania: Hollow Knight

*I'll just add more here when I remember them.*
