Namur: Those who haven't deserve to be haunted every night by Gay plumber Bob.

Yikes.

michaelleung: Wait, you actually liked The Last Samurai? What a snore. Catch Me If You Can wasn't a bad film, though.

Truth be told I like movies that exude story over anything else. Finding Forrester was a movie with zero action but it is one of my favourites because of the story. Maybe that's why I like RPG's so much...story.
Favorite movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Last one I saw: Wanted
I got given the "Van Damme 6 pack" DVD box for my birthday, so I'm going to be enjoying that for a while.
(It was 6 films I've not seen actually, even though I own a lot of them already)

Namur: Just saw The Deer Hunter (1978) again last night.
I'm not even going to recommend it because i bet everybody on the planet has already seen it. Those who haven't deserve to be haunted every night by Gay plumber Bob.

Oh er..hum, I guess that wasn't a dream then. Truth be told, I have yet to see Deer Hunter, it has been moved to the top of my Netflix queue, so as to avoid further visits from, er, Bob.
Favorite Films:
The Wrestler,
The Road Warrior,
Leon,
Session 9,
Hard Boiled,
Pan's Labyrinth,
The Blues Brothers,
First Blood Part II,
Return of the Dragon,
Evil Dead,
Unbreakable,
Tetsuo the Ironman,

Halloween,
Who's Harry Crumb?,
The Breakfast Club,
Le Fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain
Last One I Saw
Dead Ringers, finally got to watch it last night and it was every bit as good as I expected.
Recommendation:
Sha Po Lang, definitely one of the greatest police movies ever made. I sincerely think everybody should see it.

My favorite movie is Evil Dead 2, so my recommendation shouldn't come as much of a surprise. I saw Drag Me to Hell last night, and it's easily the best horror movie made in the past decade. It's relentless, white knuckle, jump-out-of-your-seat terror, without resorting to the needless gore and violence that have become genre mainstays. The acting, effects, and scares are all top notch, and every inch of it is infused with Sam Raimi's classic style and comedy. It's tightly written and filmed, and above all else, it's fun. If you've ever been a fan of the horror genre, you must see Drag Me to Hell.
Favorites:
Shankshaw Redemption
The man from snowy river
In the heat of the night
Hunt for red October
Colors
Fargo

Spirited Away
Perfect Blue

Die hard 2 (laughably stupid)
Recommend: Perfect Blue- If you think anime is kids stuff, this Psychological thriller will creep you out. Art is very good even now.
Spirited Away- If you want something more friendly, then this is great to. Everything about it is awesome. Has a deep story unlike most family films.
Must mention Let The Right One In (Låt den rätte komma in) as well. Honestly, it is my favourite movie ever, and I am quite selective. The morse code wasn't subtitled in the version I saw though, unlike the theatrical version..anyone know where I could buy this?
Also, 9 Songs was quite something, too.
Tropic Thunder was hilarious -- very different from those movies, of course. :)
Just watched Kaufman's new film, Synecdoche, New York, and Jesus Christ I was blown away. Easily the most difficult movie I've ever seen (behind Mulholland Drive, of course!), even more-so than the Holy Mountain (all of these being mentioned I highly recommend). I think it may have nudged out Magnolia from my top ten.
(Pointless related story: I spent 2 years planning out a novel, then about six months ago I saw Kaufman's previous movie Adapation, which was about 90% the exact same as what I was outlining for my novel. Forced me to really reconsider everything. Sigh. Got my brother--who also writes--to watch Synecdoche after I finished and he told me about how he was going to have to ditch one of the stories he was writing because of the absurd amount of similarities it had to Kaufman's new movie (especially having a woman buy and live in a house that was always always on fire).)
I also just watched Chungking Express from Wong Kar-Wai. I highly recommend this as well. Was my first experience with Wong and I'll definitely be checking out more.
EDIT: I just realised my icon was a baby. What.

I know you're gonna judge me but my favorite is Independence Day. As far as I'm concerned it's got the perfect mix of sci-fi, comedy, action, drama and suspense.
I recommend Serenity and Sunshine, both great movies that haven't been given a fare shake. In fact Serenity is an extremely close second after ID for my fav spot. Sunshine stumbles at the end a bit, but overall it's a great story, and very intense.
Last one I saw was Terminator Salvation. Don't know why the critics aren't liking it. It was good, not T1/T2 great, but hell of a lot better than T3.
I watched 28 Weeks Later. Not bad at all. Oh, and to the guy above me, Independence Day is a great film. I'm serious. I also liked Armageddon. I'm also serious.

Last seen: "My Name Is Bruce" and "La Femme Nikita." Both excellent movies.
Armageddon was amazing, I think too many people wrote it off as another apocalyptic/Bruce Willis action film. Which, those were there, but the film goes a lot deeper than that. I've seen that movie make grown men cry...like the Green Mile.
Oh, and ZamFear, you made my day, FLCL is my favorite anime...ever

Favourites
A lot really, but if you put a gun to my head and made me pick 5;
-Le Fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain (makes you very happy & best soundtrack ever!)
-Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade (duh, I'm an archaeologist myself)
-Once Upon a Time in the West (so slow and yet so goooood)
-Shawshank Redemption (kinda mandatory, for a reason)
-Das Boot (best WWII movie, period.)
Last Ones I Saw (five in one weekend):
-Gangs of New York (really dumb movie, avoid like the plague)
-Usual Suspects (quite nice)
-Thin Red Line (a bit too lengthy, but okay)
-Michael Clayton (pretty decent)
-Enemy at the Gates (didn't like the ending too much, but really fine nonetheless)
Recommendations
Obviously my favourites listed above, especially Amelie and Das Boot (the original one, not the directors cut)
