Protektor (Czech, 2009) :

A Czech journalist joins a Prague radio station what broadcasts Nazi propaganda in order to protect his Jewish wife. However, as the Nazi rule over Czechoslovakia calls for more and more collaboration, his relationship with his wife spirals downward.

Really good movie, with interesting soundtracks and beautiful visuals (some outdoor scenes are gorgeous). Elegance in a dramatic context.
So I watched Lo last night on Netflix instant, it was way better than I expected it to be (and I thought it deserved 4/5 instead of the 3/5 it seems to garner everywhere).

Since the titles is a bitch to search on here's the IMDB link http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1047490/

Also, don't read the forum posts on IMDB, that is all.

jefequeso: I was wondering about Ironclad. It looked kinda cool. I might have to check it out now.
It's well above average (if not great) but it might be pretty hard to watch for some.

mindatlarge: It's not a movie, but do yourself a favor and watch "Breaking Bad", a TV series on AMC, hands down one of the best shows I've watched. Currently streaming on Netflix, btw.
I just cannot get excited enough about the (rather stupid seeming) premise to fire this one up.

Oh, and if you want to see a zombie flick that's different (and don't mind just passable) then watch Rammbock. The scene with the slingshot cracks me up, even though it may not be intended to.

To be honest, I looked up some details about its R rating, and it mentioned that you see some guy get his tongue graphically cut out...which I'm not sure I really want to see.

Actually, if that bothers you there's much, much worse than that in it.

Like what?
Last movie I watched is Sherlock Holmes - A game of shadows.
I love Guy Ritchie's films and this is surely a very good action movie, very enjoyable and never boring, but I feel the characters have not much in common with the original ones.
Never watched the first movie though, I still haven't decided if I'll look for it or not.

Several people have their hands and feet chopped off pre-execution. It might be hard to watch for some folks.

Agreed. I blew through the three seasons they have on Netflix in the past month and a half. It is such a wonderful show.

Also, on the topic of movies, I recently saw Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. The movie was much, much, slower than I expected it to be in terms of plot, but it was still a well made spy thriller. You do have to pay attention to the movie if you want to figure anything out though, as the information pertinent to the story is presented in very subtle ways.

yeeaaahhh... I think I'll skip.
Jonny English Reborn

It was quite fun.
Old Joy (USA, 2006) :

Two old pals reunite for a camping trip in Oregon's Cascade Mountains.

Cool movie.
Salton Sea

It starts off like as if its some kind of drug-movie a bit like some cross between tarantino and guy richie, but along the way you realise you are watching a neo-noir movie

i dont want to go into more detail here, since discovering what the movie is about is part of what the movie is about, just believe me that its really good
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
The piano in a factory (China, 2010) :

To fight for custody of his daughter who loves playing the piano, a steel factory worker decides to forge a piano from scratch.

Funny movie.
