I've been having this issue for a couple days. Screenshot of the error popup is included below. I cannot open GOG Galaxy or use it at all. I use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Home (Premium) and avast Free antivirus. I'm guessing one of them is blocking Galaxy, but I've added the program files, as well as the gog website, to exclusion lists. Maybe I'm forgetting something? I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Do you log in as administrator?
Yes I do. I run it as Admin, gave it all the permissions I could think of, and still it won't let me open it.

Someone posted the same thing about Avast the other day. They said that they
were going to look for another free security.I think from this being the second
one maybe it's Avast blocking it.
Well I just got through uninstalling Avast, and in it's place I put bitedefender (I think i read the post you're referring to) and still the same thing. Funny thing is, if I turn off malwarebytes, it still does it. Perhaps I'm missing something in windows that could be blocking it? I run windows 8.1 btw.

They would be all,I think.Although it looks like something on your PC is blocking it.

Blah still nothing. I also have a ticket sent in to gog about this, maybe they'll be able to shed some light.
It's a problem with the client itself, I believe. I would say that the newest version has a major bug in it. I'll never understand that-if it ain't broken, don't fix it. Try downgrading to an earlier version if you can.

In my case: I start it up and about 15 seconds later: the galaxy client crashes without fail. A major bug.

This is still a great service, I use it more than steam; but I have had a few problems with the client
