Reasons (in no particular order):
- most of the great ones have already left (some recently without many people noticing)
-> I'm available via eMail for those
- the infamous Erdogan thread
- the troll friendly rep system/exploits which won't ever get fixed as it seems
- the athmosphere is rather lacking manners and good will too often (moderation wouldn't help much though)
- scammers everywhere
- I really miss the old PM system and am still annoyed by old conversations there being lost forever as it seems
- no more classic Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale without the remakes
- regional pricing everywhere, now also for Don't Stave (at least the addon and the complete set)
-> the massive Russian discount being the most absurd thing about all this and still no honest reasoning for it
- Linux gamers still treated as third class (Linux ports of many games still only available elsewhere, no new DosBox and WINE packages anymore either as it seems)
- head and hands full with my two jobs and my increasing musical activities
- don't have enough free time for boards and gaming anymore, so one has to go - easy pick
- WinXP support for old games (even some from the XP era) gets dropped all the time

As always I'm still open to help people out with anything I can but I won't look into threads anymore and unfortunately I don't know if there's a way to get an eMail notification for getting a new chat message so I may only notice when updating my backups.

I know that some people here see me as their enemy but I don't do this with anyone.
We all have our personal problems and a lack of tolerance and patience with something which always gives us the chance to improve.

Peace

I thought this was an April Fools joke, but no. Holy ****! Good luck out there, and goodbye. :(
Ah dang it. One more film enthusiast gone. :(

Farewell Klumpen0815.

If you're not one of those anti client people here you could always use Galaxy and add me. It's a little easier chat function than the one on the site.

so long and thanks for all the pancakes
Sorry to see you go. Especially sorr about seeing the Erdogan thread and the scammers among the reasons. Makes me feel like the trolls are winning.
Sad news, even if I'm agree on some points with you, but don't hesitate to come back from time to time, there is still some great members here ;)
Goodbye

Klumpen0815: *Having a bad day*
Don't be rash.
Take some time off, calm down, and get back here ;)
Sad to see you going too :(
I don't think we've ever particularly spoken but you've definitely been a presence on the forum for as long as I've been here.

It's true that more and more people just seem to be slipping away and not posting as much / at all any more and it's a shame.

Before long I think the scammers will just be scamming each other as there will be no proper members left any more :(
most of your points seem really trivial.
I mean you don't have to pay attention to the rep. It is kind of bullshit, so therefore you don't have to give it too much attention.

Linux Users have always been treated as third class, cause they are not the majority. No matter how i hate windows, and especially W10 (which i'll never jump to btw), it's the most popular OS out there.
The huge differences in engineering don't make it so easy, to have all GOG games on Linux. It's a huge task to complete.
And if developers don't seem to care, GOG can't do wonders.

What exactly happened in the Erdogan thread? I've only seen that you got badly repped, but does anyone have a tl;dr bottom line for it?

Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale. You got the originals didn't you? You can still play em (as i think you know).
The fact that new members can't buy the old GOG versions is BS from the dev's side, not GOG's and especially not the community's.

So, it seems that you got very upset by the Erdogan thread and the bad rep. Which seems like you need to take some time off or just answering to GAME-ONLY threads :p

Anyway, hope to see you back soon

Isn't it like that in all communities? People come and go.

Goodbye Klumpen. Live in peace and be as much happy as you can be. I can very well understand your frustration with the store and all your points are very important although some are just venting anger for being attacked constantly in the threads. But I can understand your frustration with zero Linux support from gog side and no Linux versions of games for bigger releases in last year and off course the regional pricing.

Auf ein baldiges wiedersehen.

Yeah, but we don't seem to get many new people, just more scammers and alt accounts.
The majority of this community seemed to have been here for a while, and as more and more of them disappear and less new people join (and let's face it, looking at the forums these days, would it entice you to become a regular contributor?) it's inevitable that it will decline seriously...

Maybe I'm being overly gloomy but that's just how it seems to me at the moment.
bloody hell..

If GOG made a Trading forum half of the problem would be exiled to a weird corner somewhere I'm not going.

Edit: Never forget the Lurkers. I think a lot that "leave" start lurking instead.
