Is there a way to remove the pre-installed mods completely so I can play the original version of the game? I know there is no dos version included and I can patch the game to change its version, just wanna remove the additional menus and features that mods bring.

I'd like to try the original Fallout without any mods but this one comes with resolution and menu-altering mods pre-installed. It's not something to really worry about, I know, but I just hate mods, especially the ones I didn't install myself.

Go to Start Menu
Go to Fallout 1 or 2 folder -> click on the .exe "Fallout (Classic)"
Huh, I wasn't even aware that those came with mods, let alone enabled by default.
On topic of mods, I highly recommend Restoration Project mods for both Fallout 1 and 2. Brings back tons of cut content, fixes bugs and such.

I wouldn't recommend this on a first playthrough. I feel you should try to get as much of an authentic experience ie. as the designers intended on your first PT.

Oh sure. I had finished the games many times before I first stumbled upon the RP so i didn't realize it needed to be said.

The First playthrough should definitely be Vanilla so you can see what the RP added.
