Dragon's Dogma - JRPG meets Monster Hunter, meets DMC, meets Dark Souls
Did you actually play Dragon's Dogma? Because JRPG meets Dark Souls or Monster Hunter about covers it. The combat is more MMO than anything like DMC or Dark Souls. The gritty aesthetic is really the only thing it takes from DS or MH. Not sure where DMC even enters into it.

Guess someone mentioned it already but Way of the Samurai 3 and 4 are discounted right now and quite exotic. DarkShaver2k is going to stream WotS3 in about 2 hours on GOG's twitch channel.

Played and finished it on hard and post Deamon Bitterblack Isle.

Stinger and Helmbreaker moves for start are lifted straight from DMC. You might wanna check dedicated Dragon's Dogma channels on YouTube if you think combat is just MMO, it has a lot of Capcom DNA where you can solo the game early if you know the mechanics.
Nobody mentioned the Oddworld series, yet.
I am extremely disappointed.

Also, Jazzpunk. I still have no idea of what that game actually is, and I've played it.

BeatriceElysia: Not to open another unnecessary thread, what do you guys think of Timespinner? I got multiple recommendations from one person, worth it?

Rune added to the wishlist, thanks Mafwek, and other people who constantly recommend it to me,,,
(I'm pretty sure I'm that one person who recommended it to you multiple times that you mention.)

Well, I did find it quite fun to play. Some things about it:
* The main character (who is female, by the way) moves at a nice pace.
* You get orbs as weapons, which give you different forms of attack. One has you swinging swords, another has you shooting electricity, etc.
* There are two maps to explore, one in the past and one in the present. The past is a medieval-style setting, while the present has a high-tech post-apocalyptic feel to it. That aside, there are stll many similarities.
* You can stop time, and use enemies as platforms during this time. This can be used to reach certain areas, and to get past tricky sections; it also is useful for avoiding boss attacks.
* Rare drops aren't too hard to get, particularly those associated with sidequests.
* Speaking of sidequests, that aspect of the game becomes quite queer once you do enough of them.
* All cutscenes (including sidequest dialog) are skipable, and there's a journal where you can check the current status of sidequests and what you need to do next.
* There's New Game +, and multiple difficulty levels. (With that said, the game isn't that long.)
* The soundtrack makes some nice references to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. In fact, the game feels just like one of the Metroidvania-style Castlevanias.
* I haven't played Bloodstained, but I note that Timespinner is only half as expensive, runs natively on Linux (with low system requirements), and is still quite fun to play. (Perhaps someone who has played both games could chime in here with a good comparison?)

In summary, Timespinner is a fun game if you like the Metroidvania-style Castlevania games. (It's more like those games than most other Metroidvanias, actually.)
- another vote for Hand of Fate
- Epistory: action RPG (Zelda-style), puzzle game, tower defense and typing
- Slime Rancher: first person tamagotchi farmer combined with exploration
- Viscera Clean Up Detail: OCD simulator (First Person Cleaner)
Played Epistory, nice game

Decided to go with Timespinner. :)
