I tried to download the latest GOG Galaxy because the last one stopped working and so I uninstalled it. But every time I try to install GOG Galaxy again I get this error. Anyone else having problems like this? What should I do to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing it's a sign.
Something is preventing the installer from copying its files. Make sure it is run with Administrator privileges and deactivate your antivirus (if you have one) during the installation.

And this is us seeing that sign.

Restart your computer, then try running the installer again. Also, try to run the program as Administrator.

So abandon all security then? I really wouldn't advise the above. First check your AV log, there likely wont be anything there so you can forget AV as there would be an event if this interferes. Install it outside of Windows folders - always install everything outside Windows folders - should remove the need to drop Admin rights. You have this issue because you installed the program within Windows folders, and now the UAC is preventing you changing things - again, never install to Widows folders.

Ok. And how do I do that exactly? Outside of Windows folders, that is. What is considered as outside of 'Windows folders'?

Choose install location, select something which is not ProgramFiles or ProgramFiles(x86), what I do is create:
c:\MyPrograms
c:\MyGames
c:\MyDocuments
Then I only use these for my things.

What it is is that since Windows (Oh My Good Lord its so bad) Vista, there has been UAC (User Access Control) on all folders associated with Windows, which from a security point does have merits. However it also messes up any applications you may want to have storing data in them, or changing files (for example modding). Therefore, to avoid things like saves not getting saved, or settings not being saved its advisable to not store in those areas that have this cover.
I just restarted my computer and downloaded the folder to anywhere else but my C:/Program Files and it worked! I then moved that GOG Galaxy folder to another place where I like to keep my game related stuff.

So it's working! Thank you, folks!
