Northern main tunnel:

65 - Grom Grombly - Half-Orc Shaman shouts a hint about the riddle to OldNick. BJ looks at you with disappointment.

37 - OldNick - Drow Thief "A Vampirate" you say, grinning. To which BJ replies "Bah, doesn't count if ye have help".

57 - Siegfried - Human Paladin wonders where the Hag is with your missing companion.

63 - Fish - Half Orc Berserker *rolls dice* lashes out at the nearest zombie chopping a human/elf nearly in half.

34 - Stefareth - Human Necromancer stays lurking in the main tunnel for now. (You cannot see the Illithid while you remain in the main tunnel).

16 - Rizzleskiff - Drow Shaman continues to levitate her way northward looking for an exit. You are amazed at how big the cavern is.
*rolls dice* BJ stops paying attention to you because of Fish's actions.

67 - Rufus - Human Cleric converses with BJ who is eyeing Fish with menace "Who are you? What's your purpose? Do you want to leave this cavern?"

BJ turns his attention to you "I be asking the questions around here, landlubber!"

45 - Loradan - Elven Mage casts Levitate and rises up to land in the crows nest.

57 - Siegfried - Human Paladin stands ready, sword in hand but offers to mediate with the Captain.

68 - Peloquin - Dwarven Thief tries to slip away from the group, you see a trapdoor *rolls dice* but as you are surrounded by zombies it is impossible to move unnoticed.

51 - Henz - Elf Thief sneaks around the shore *rolls dice* avoiding the entangle spell, trying to get behind a weaker zombie.

40 - Gilius - Dwarven Druid attempts to fly after Loradan before realising he does not have the necessary spell to do so.

BJ says to Fish "Tis not nice you chopping me crew up, mayhaps you be taking his place?" "Answer me this Orc"

65 - Grom Grombly - Half-Orc Shaman prepares to cast Flame Strike but is stopped short as BJ shouts "WAIT" at you. You feel magical connotations behind the command.

BJ looks around the group "If ye wish to leave here alive, ye will not be slaying any more of me crew." "Think not for one moment that ye's magic is more powerful than mine" He makes a point of looking at Rufus when saying the last bit.
"For everyone of me hearties ye take from me, one of ye shall replace."
"Now, Orc, don't be keeping me waiting."
BJ tips a bottle of rum down his throat before crunching up the bottle to which his zombies crew let out a loud "ARRR!"
Darci removed Hummer's weapons and tied the sleeping elf up with rope handed to her by Tomato. Once done, she cast her spells.
[Northern main tunnel]

If the penguin keeps drinking bottle after bottle of rum maybe the alcohol will take him down for us. He's clearly in no rush to finish us off, but we still don't know what his intentions are. The fact that all zombies are made of two halves from different races makes me suspicious.

On the other hand, technically BJ has only been defending from our attacks so far. I would like to put that high charisma stat to use and try and learn more about him.

Northern side tunnel:

75 - Darci - Drow Cleric ties up Hummer with a rope that Tomato handed her. You remove his weapons and cast Summon Holy Guardian, Globe of Protection on yourself and Divine Retaliation on yourself and Tomato.

1 - Hummer - Elven Ranger *rolls dice* comes awake to find himself tied up.

10 - Squee - Goblin Thief fires his crossbow *rolls dice* hitting the Illithid in the top of the chest.

56 - Damon - Dwarf Warrior charges the Illithid *rolls dice* the wounded Illithid attacks with a Mind Blast as the Holy Guardian keeps a grip of it.
*rolls dice* You drop your axe and grab the side of the table to stop yourself hitting the ground. Slowly you pull yourself to your feet.

21 - Danric the Exiled - Human Paladin enters the room with the Illithid having made your way from the main tunnel. You advance on the Illithid seeing your Dwarf companion struggling to stand. (As you were in the main tunnel at the start of this turn you don't reach the Illithid just yet).

61 - Vanathradil - Elf Mage (your monster spell was interrupted last turn) *rolls dice* you stagger as another Mind Blast rolls over you.
You make your way to the far end of the room where just outside in the tunnel you can see Hummer tied up.

A rasping voice enters the heads of all in the room, "Let me go and I can show you where great treasure is!" There is an air of panic to the voice.
"EVERYBODY STOP THE ATTACK! The illithid is talking to us telepathically. We are safe for now from the illithid, I can guarantee you that it can't cast a third Mind Blast before it completes a short or long rest. But remember that it can levitate at will, so stay close to it. Danric, I understand that as a paladin you feel compelled to eradicate evil creatures like mind flayers but please show some patience here and let me talk with the illithid. Aleric, if you can move again, I would appreciate some healing, I feel really weak after these two mind blasts"

I move a bit away from the exit towards a point where Hummer can't see me (I do this so that no one in Hummer's room can see/target me) and I speak to the illithid. "We aren't here to kill everyone we meet, dear illithid. Our priority is to escape this dungeon, could you help us in this task? Any info about the dungeon, the way out and especially its most powerful denizens would be immensely useful. Of course, treasure is good, too. We proved we can beat you in battle so let's not risk another confrontation that would end in your destruction, you know what I mean? Tell us first where the treasure is and how we can get it, and if we want to go for it, you will lead us there, and then you can go. If we decide it isn't worth the hassle, we'll let you go immediately. You can trust us that we will keep our side of the deal, you can probably feel that we are good natured. Do we have an agreement?"

Doc, I think you did a mistake there. Gilius cast Eagle Wings during turn 9, so it should still be active :
40 - Gilius - Dwarven Druid casts Summon Stone Elemental which appears near him, Eagle Wings on himself and Find Traps into the right room. *rolls dice* a slab of the wall turns red opposite the doorway.

As I'm already on the ship and BJ is rather occupied I steal a bottle of rum from BJ's stash and sit and drink watching what's going on and thinking what I'm going to do next.

Mmm... the rum is pretty good!

But the spell is active, it's supposed to last 5 turns. That's why I cast it before the spell change.

Yeah exactly, unless Doc stated before spell exchange that any active ones won't work if you don't have it anymore, it should still work.

It's more likely that Doc just forgot he cast Eagle Wings, since it has been 4 turns since then.

I will cut down any zombie that comes near me. I don't trust the squid. Once I'm done with the undead, I'm coming for it next. A squid head is an even better trophy than a hag's.

I look at Illithid with cold anger when I speak to him, but I keep my sword ready to strike.

"Elf, this should help you".

I cast a healing spell on Vanathradil.

(Being able to maintain a spell you don't have anymore seems counterintuitive to me. But I don't actually know how it's supposed to work.)
