Do you play Dugeons and Dragons - table / story / email / skype games ?

Would you learn me how to play Dungeons and Dragons - through internet, emails or skype ?

I can imagine creating some kind of story with some other people - we can create group and play together some story through emails - do you have some experences with that ?

Thank you

It would be a challenge to play via skype.

If you haven't tried it yet, get Neverwinter Nights (available here) and log into a persistant world RP server. It'll give you a quasi-tabletop-like experience. Alternatively, you can get an even better experience by joining a campaign. You could get a meet-up on the NWN forum.

In general, asking people for their email addresses without them knowing you more, is going to make you seem a bit creepy.

If you want an even closer tabletop experience, you could try Fantasy Grounds. It's only $30 right now (25% off).
Skype for D&D works just fine, though it can be awkward with people you're not familiar with. Simply use Skype and then use any number of the online RPG desktop systems such as Maptools.

As for teaching you, I'm no expert and have severe antisocial anxiety at times so I'm afraid that's a no-go. :(
Here's an important question: Which edition? (There are major differences between different editions of the game, and I actually consider 4th edition to be a different game entirely.)
Well I know it is kind of strange when new member asks for friendship / email / skype communication.Maybe it would be best to contact some local groups who play DnD and other tabletop games.

I will try to learn some basics about DnD or other systems and maybe we can try something with Skype if you are interested.I think it can be fun also without some world or rules.

I never tried any Tabletop but I am great fan of RPGs and want to try some.

If I save some money I want surely try FGrounds - I heared many good talks about it.

I think DnD 2 or 3 are good - is 4 so much different ?

I don't know if I would be able to do it through Skype, my schedule is crazy, but I am interested in how this goes. I also have very little experience in D&D other than crpgs like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, but I would love to try something. And from what I've read and learned myself, I do like 2nd edition mainly because I am most familiar with it.

I play a lot of D&D (and other pen-and-paper RPGs) in a play-by-post format on various forums. A popular site which has play-by-post forum games is Unseen Servant.
