Picked it up for $2.50 a few months ago for the XB360. Figure for that amount it will be enjoyable enough. Am sure I would have hated to pay full price for it, but that'd be true for me with most games.

Will hopefully get to it later this year.

Weird, last time I was in an EB Games was probably 5 years ago and their PC games section had like 5 games in it, I didn't think they'd still even sell them by now TBH. That was the last place I bought a boxed game too, in 2006 or 2007 if memory serves correct. It was Battle for Middle Earth II collector's edition.

Hi I'm a modder, and I desperately need a GOG copy(or any other non-steam copy) of Duke Nukem Forever and its two dlc's to be able to mod dlc multiplayer maps.Unfortunately, if I make changes to the DLC maps, steam checks for files integrity preventing me from launch them.A GOG version(or any other) of this game and its DLC's would allow me to make changes and improvements that would only benefit the entire Duke Nukem Forever multiplayer community.This summer i developed a multiplayer mod for this game(search youtube for "Dnf music lasagna mod"),but as I said Steam checks for integrity of the dlc maps,then i was only able to mod the standard maps . I am willing to pay a high price or even trade them with other games as it is the only multiplayer game I play(i have been playing it from 10 years). PS* Would a pirated version work the same? Taking into account that I have several physical copies of DNF and therefore would it be legal. Thank you

I don't think GOG ever had Duke Nukem Forever, just a few of the older Duke games.

As far as yourself goes, I wouldn't hesitate to get a pirated version if you actually own the game, but that is down to you.

That won't help though if you want to share your mod creations with others, unless they are prepared to do the same thing.

Doesn't Steam allow something like you want with their Workshop?

It might be worth communicating with someone at the likes of ModDB about your issue or even Steam themself.

Have you tried launching the game, outside of the steam client?

To do that you'd go to the steam folder (Probably c:\Program Files\Steam\Games\ or somewhere) and find the game folder and run the exe directly. The game SHOULD work, though the steam version will ping to make sure steam is running first (probably).

It's also possible if you check the update policy it might have a file verification options there too. I forget i haven't touched steam since 2014...

Seeing as a cracked version doesn't rely on steam or use the DRM, i would think it would be the superior version to use.

I liked this game more than most, but only in relative terms. It was still pretty bad. Worth a run through for fans though for some Duke lines and it's occasional good points.
