Does anyone remember the classic PC/PS1 game from Reflections interactive? (Also known as Driver: You Are the Wheelman in North America)

I came here looking to buy it but it doesn't appear ot be listed. Is there a story about that?

probably a rights issue I would imagine.
The word "suck" doesn't even begin to express how bad I was at that game. XD
It looked good and played great, but MY GOD, it was sooooo frustrating for me.

I could have sworn GOG had it at one time but I guess I'm wrong.

EDIT: looks like the 4th game in the series is here.

Unfortunately, only Driver: Parallel Lines is available to buy here or everywhere else where they sell games in digital form.

I would very much love to see the first Driver available here as well. Would probably instabuy it if the price was reasonable, like 5,99.

Never played the PC version actually, only PS1 one. But I guess there isn't much difference between the two.
I'm assuming copyright problems. Reflections used to be owned by Atari for the first 3 and the only one that's for sale is the Ubisoft one.

The Wikipedia page talks about a leadership shake up. It could be related to that as well. It's kind of sad to because they are sitting on both the Shadow of the Beast franchise and Driver.
Driv3r is a licencing nightmare, licenced music especially. Driver San Francisco was available on Steam and uPlay for a long time but removed about two years ago.

The first two never saw a digital release, except for the PS1 versions that are available on PSN in the classics section as we speak. Parallel Lines is the only one on GOG sadly.

I think Ubisoft gave up on it since they tried rebooting the franchise with that Driver Speedboat mobile game abomination. It failed which was suprising ;). Cheers

EDIT: After double checking it looks like Driver 2 was also pulled from the US PSN at some point.

If memory serves correct, they took the game engine and updated it and rebooted it as Watch_Dogs franchise. I'd have to Google my math on that to be sure though. Maybe someone else can confirm.

I have the PC version on CD.

I've never installed nor played it. Maybe some day.
Shoutout to the people who spent 90% of the game trying to run over people on the path.
That garage level was the only memorable part of the game. Nothing else stick in my mind when it comes to Driver.
There were better sort-of-preGTA3D games back then, with Getaway for example.
The soundtrack was the highlight for me.

Edit:
The PC soundtrack is different than that of the Playstation, apart from the introsong which is awesome.
The PC soundtrack is better imo.

I never thought about it that way but you could be right. There are similarities, but the overall feel is not even close to any Driver game, at least for me ;). Cheers
