A very popular role-playing game from Instant Kingdom is getting a formidable content injection today. Apart from the new characters, quests, items, and skills, Driftmoon also receives a massive graphics and interface upgrade, as well as some small bugfixes.

As a result, the title now becomes known as Driftmoon Enhanced Edition and receives a 50% discount on GOG.COM, lasting until 25th May, 1 PM UTC.

ville.monkkonen: As for the 64/32 bit Windows architecture, we might do an update to support 32 if you're actually using such an OS, the game after all doesn't mind either way. But I think Unity requires at least Windows 7, and has a bit higher requirements than the original Driftmoon, so the Enchanted Edition might still not run on every PC that the original runs on. (Edit: just re-read that you're using Win XP. Out of luck there I'm afraid, Driftmoon would probably work fine there, but the Unity engine we're using gave up support for XP in 2017)
Thanks for your response.

According to their release news and related blog post it was DirectX9 that support was dropped for, but OpenGL should still work (I'm running version OpenGL 4.3 and utilities like Unigine Heaven can do tesselation which it can't with DX9). So if you're using Unity 2017, there's a pretty good chance that it will work (or can be persuaded to work) on WinXP. But without a 32-bit version, there's no way to even try this.

cachirulo: Myself I prefer the new one but, for those who interested, vanilla edition now available under Extras ;)
Thanks for the heads-up, and thanks to Ville+GOG for adding it.

Thanks! GOG almost certainly wouldn't have done it without a direct request from you.

Thanks for adding the original version as an extra! Now I can have a look at the differences on my own, but I probably will start with trying out the new Linux version. :)

ville.monkkonen: (...) I believe/hope GOG is bringing the vanilla Driftmoon version as a downloadable extra today. You can try both versions if you like, the first one is definitely something we could be happy with too, so don't feel bad if you prefer it. :)

(Edit 2: Just one more reply to foxgog which came to my mind. The default zoom is a bit closer in the Echanted Edition, which does make it look a bit different as well. You can zoom out with the mouse wheel to bring the view to the same zoom as the original.)
Hello again ville.monkkonen, dear developer!

Thank you so much for your kind responses here!

And also many thanks to you for requesting GOG.com to add the original "vanilla" version of your game again to your customers download options, and of course thank you guys from GOG.com to follow through with it, providing the additional download in a very timely manner!!

Reading the update on this matter today here in the forum (and seeing the update notice both in the corresponding magog thread and in the gogdb.org changelog) made my buying decision very easy.
Accordingly, I added it immediately to my library by buying it here on GOG.com.

Now, I will squeeze in my own first-hand gameplay experience on Driftmoon in the intervals between my ongoing play sessions of the original Dungeon Siege game.
Maybe I am going to do a direct comparison of both Driftmoon versions in parallel to get the feel for it, or depending on the flow and general ingame progress do a second playthrough with the Enchanted Edition afterwards.

Later, I will report back with feedback on my own experience and personal impression of your game.

Again, your efforts and attitude towards your customers are commendable!

Kind regards,
foxgog

P.S.: I almost forgot, I do appreciate your reminder about the mouse wheel zoom function.
