Good! :)

I made a fighter hero cloning Guts from Berserk. Very satisfying, especially when you get to use the very big swords.

Too bad the armor sets were removed. :-(

True! I was so pissed when I realized Guts' gear was removed. I moved him around in the White Falcon armor, which is... well... kinda inappropriate, I'd say! :P

Edit: in game they call it griffin armor, but really, we all know who it belonged to.

Enebias: I encountered almost no problems even without the patches. So few in fact, that I don't even remember what they were.

Btw, could you get it as a gift?

pkk234: Yes, in fact i traded with a fellow region lock bs victim just today.
It's reassuring to hear that the game is fine on it's own. Can't wait til the weekend to crack it open.
Glad to read you got it. I have yet to play it as well.
Patches shouldn't be a problem either. Once a game is in your account, it's in your account and gets all the usual patches. It's the normal download page.

I don't know whether that works with Galaxy, but without Galaxy it's no problem. I have several games that are region locked in Germany and they come with all the patches.

Oh. I bought a copy for you as I promised in your other thread. Oh well, I'll either refund it or give it to someone else.
I love this game and that little affinity mechanic the manual doesn't even bother to mention. :)
I'm doing my best to avoid the dreaded Romancing the Jailbait. I'm gunning after Madeleine.

Fairfox: is this one of those gamies you can wander around an' liek just do anythang or even zip? can you ride horsies? is thar wild lyfe general lee? was stuffages removed, then? is it gimped on gogie? i kno 0 'boot it

dont liek grind gamies or stats or havin' to liek sort out an 'invent tory' tbh
I read that it was made by japanese dudes inspired by Morrowind/Oblivion...who only read about the games. Don't wuote me on thwt though.
I also read it has some of the best combat on pc. Not sure about the story, the grind, nor horsies.

Your best bet would be gameplay vids.
Dragon's Dogma = Skyrim + Puppet bodyguards - the size + the ability to climb on bosses and stab on their ba... necks.

Once you get past a certain point fairly early on you can pretty much go anywhere (a few areas are still sealed off until you get to them in the main story however). There are no horses in the game. There is non-aggressive wildlife like deer and rabbits.

The GoG version doesn't have anything removed really but the selection of user-made pawns is limited since there is no crossplay with steam. It also doesn't seem to work in some aspects but I found the offline pre-generated pawns to suit my purposes just fine.

The game is a little bit grindy - but I didn't mind too much since it was so much fun to kill things. Inventory can be a pain but I just speedrun to kill the final dragon whenever I needed decent equipment.

Getting the best equipment is ultra grindy and may not even be possible in the GoG version - killing the true Ur-Dragon requires a lot of people playing at once and GoG doesn't seem to have those numbers. I don't even know if it works properly - I tried fighting the offline version and got my ass kicked so I never even bothered to fight the far stronger true version. It's all extra stuff and not necessary anyways.
All in all it sounds like people in general enjoyed the game.
I'm excited.
It also sounds like we're not missing out on much here with the GoG version, which is always good news.

The job progression system is also one of the better ones I've seen. There are several basic classics and several advanced classes. You can jump from class to class, but the amount of levels you spend in certain classes will affect your stats by the time you make your final choice of advanced class. I've heard Sorcerer is the most powerful class, but I'm kind of aiming towards Mystic Knight, just because I like the sound of the class, and the gear set reminds me of King Arthur and his knights.
