If you're capable of creating back-ups of your games installers, you're capable of downloading and keeping all the other important software and drivers. Certainly a lot more efficient than bundling duplicates with every single game installer.

I can see how this would make sense for more exotic files and emulators required by some games, but we're talking about Direct X here, which is required by just about any game. Chances are, if you're a gamer, you already have the relevant files on your system. And even if not they're easily found, either directly from MS, or any number of other download sites.

I think the game should come with all the prerequisites, in case some files are not available any more. That's just more reasonable and responsible. Steam understood that a long time ago.

I've owned Witcher 3 for some time, It played fine from the first hour. I think we are on the wrong course here.
Everyone seems to think I don't have Direct X, I have 64 games in my library, I built this computer and dozens of others. I've played games since 1996, Direct X is installed , Witcher 3 plays great, as do many other games. But when you "Successfully" install a game, I used Galaxy. It should at least make an effort to play. This one failed out of the box, it is really disappointing. I can fix it no doubt. I just didn't want to. No, I wanted to play the game. It was late, I'd had a long day and I wanted to play, not repair or play with software...
