Just had to put this here :)

http://venturebeat.com/2015/08/20/gog-on-dragonlance-gold-box-games-theyre-coming/
Read/Own all the books, inherited from my sister who died at 16 :(

I was a member of a computer game club, many moons ago it was based in swindon, UK, and if you didn't order anything, you'd get the editors choice, and I recived Heroes of the lance [Amiga 500] some side scrolling game, but also came with the book Dragons of autumn twilight.

Was a great read, laughed and cried, was great. Gave it to my sister to read, and she went out and bought the whole collection [not all in one go, but over time]

Happy Days.

All the best

Very exciting. I have the Gamefest collection that contains most of what GOG released plus a few others, and even I don't own these.
Never read any of the Dragonlance books. Are they worth reading if you are a fan of the Forgotten Realms books?

I would say so, definitely. I actually prefer them to the FR books. Although there are lots of similarities, Krynn is different enough to be familiar but surprising. Arguably some of the most beloved characters from D&D literature have their roots in the Dragonlance series (Raistlin Majere, Laurana, Kitiara, Tasslehoff, Lord Soth!). It also has some cool twists on the usual D&D tropes - like the Orders of High Sorcery (white/red/black), Knights of Solamnia, the Cataclysm, draconians, even (ahem) kender and tinker gnomes. And dragons. COOL dragons.

I would recommend the original chronicles trilogy and the follow-up twins trilogy, along with the more recent "lost chronicles" books, which take place in-between the original trilogy's three books and have a similar tone and more of the beloved characters.

Read "Dragons of Autumn Twilight". If you aren't hooked, it's probably not for you. But I hope you will be!

Regards and good gaming!

I have a brother that sounds like your sister, if I get him onto something, he will collect it all. That said I am saddened to hear that her life was so short.

Yes, I think it's the Krynn series:

Oh, they're definitely Dragonlance games, there's no "think" involved at all. :-)
well yes there is that, but i meant for the dragonlance - heroes of the lance games
Wait, you actually want Heroes of the Lance? Isn't it... legendarily terrible?
*shrugs* no idea what it is but it sounds fat virgin friendly. :P
