I just bought a new computer and want to know what I have to do to enable me to download and install my games to the new computer or if I have to create a new account.

I put in a support request and got as far support asking me for more information. I did this and hit reply. That was about two weeks ago and I have not heard from them since.
You mean use your old account with the same email you previously had or did you also lose access to your email?
You need to log in on gog using your email and password for gog and then you will get an email 2fa from gog enter the code on new computer which was sent to your email
If you forgot the gog password you can probably reset it if you entered your email correctly when you first registered your account. If you didn't enter the email correctly then you will have to somehow prove you bought those games with order id and payment method, best would be some screenshots

Why wouldn't you be able to download your games to your new PC?
And why do you think, you'd need a new GOG account to do that?

Simply use your new PC to go to www.gog.com, log in with your usual credentials and (re-)download your games.
Btw: if you have your games already downloaded onto your old PC, you can simply copy them over from your old HDD.

Not sure if trolling but your account is not tied to your computer. You managed to log in on this website to make this post, so you can just mouse-over your username in the header bar and select 'games' from the dropdown menu. Download and install whatever you wish.

Alternatively: if you downloaded and backed up your installers, you can transfer them to your new machine and install your games offline.

this brings back fond memories of me explaining to my grandparents how account information was not tied to a specific computer, i think they never truly understood.

May their souls rest in peace

No new account needed. You use the same one as before. (The same as your login to this forum).

If you want to download games, you have 2 or 3 options:

- via Galaxy client:
Download and install:
https://www.gog.com/galaxy
Run it, log in, browse your game library, let the client handle the games' download and installation.

- via web browser:
Open your web library and download offline installers:
https://www.gog.com/account
Select a game. Do *not* click the big blue button. Instead, expand the bottom category "Download Offline Backup Game Installers". Manually download all required files. Afterwards, run the setup executable(s).

- the sloppy way (not recommended):
Copy the game directories from your old to your new computer.
Also copy the game's settings and save files from your old computer's user profile folder(s).
Run the games directly by double-clicking the main executable file.
This procedure might or might not work. There's a high chance that one will miss some hidden yet important parts or settings. Smaller and simpler games are more likely to survive.

Your game library is bound to your account, not to your PC...
Not any different on any other platform.

However, on GoG you may use backup offline-installers, those can be used on any PC you own.
This can be more trouble on other platforms as they may not allow you to install your library on several PCs and if so you may have to deactivate the old PC first with a lot of hassles, authentication keys and what else, simply a DRM.

Thank you all for your replies. After reading them I decided to try to download and install one of my games again. I downloaded and installed F) 3 and everything worked perfectly.

I assume that the reason support did not get back to me was because thee was no longer a problem. It would have been n ice if they had just told me so tho. I really could not install games before, honest.

I am sorry I wasted your guy's time but I am really happy that I can play my games again as I do not like Steam.
