It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I just bought Cyberpunk 2077, and it has over 40 different files to download. It causes a lot of problems with them all trying to download at the same time, and I might have accidentally missed one of the files. I don't want to download Galaxy. The whole reason I use GOG is to avoid that kind of thing. Is there a Firefox/Chrome extension or something that would let me download files in a more user-friendly way?
You want a simple answer and sadly there is not one. Blame GOG.

For a slightly more complex answer but it is worthwhile...use gogrepoc by Kalanyr.

It is not perfect but it works well enough for a medium sized library and I can't imagine trying to download files manually. Search your favourite search engine for details for the following instructions.

You need to install Python for your operating system.

Then you need to install pip.

Then run pip to install pyOpenSSL "pip install pyOpenSSL" (using the command line)

Then you either need to:

install git and then run "git clone https://github.com/Kalanyr/gogrepoc.git"

or you can download https://github.com/Kalanyr/gogrepoc/archive/refs/heads/master.zip and extract it to a directory/folder of your choice.

Wherever you have cloned/extracted gogrepoc, you can then run "python gogrepoc.py ..." commands from the command line, using https://github.com/Kalanyr/gogrepoc as a reference.

I wish it were simpler. But if you want to avoid the bullshit of Galaxy, this is one of the options to do so.
You can change your nickname much more easily using the web interface.

It's actually "only 28 files. The rest are patches that lead up to the current version (1.5), and the extras (OST, wallpaper, etc.).

You don't need those, if you download the latest version.

The files are numbered .bin1 to .bin27 (plus 1 .exe file).

For Firefox, DownThemAll! was reigning champion of download managers when I last used it back in the day. It's also available for Chrome and Opera.

Also, Free Download Manager is a separate application and maybe worth a look. There's an official Firefox add-on that integrates it into the browser. There's probably one for Chrome too.

Bear in mind, you'll probably need a reasonably fast connection. Some users on the forum have complained that download links expire after a few hours. So you wouldn't want those downloads to sit in the queue for longer than that.

Oh, I see. So I'm going to have to babysit the downloads either way. That's kind of annoying. Thanks for the recommendation, though.
