Get the GZdoom addon and drop the Brutal Doom mod into it. Load up your chosen WAD and enjoy the carnage. Much fun to be had.

I hear Brutal Doom is really tough though, and I'm not looking for high difficulty. :)

Yeah, Zdoom should be a good choice then for vanilla gameplay. Brutal Doom is insane. Just pure insanity.

My favorite mod is Smooth Doom paired with GZDoom for the source port. Adds a lot of slick customizable graphical options and features without altering the core gameplay like Brutal Doom does.

I installed a mod for DOOM back in probably 1996 or 97 that turned all of the monsters into (terribly implemented) naked woman pictures. It was so bad I quickly removed it.

off topic
Currently downloading Grezzo 2 ISO ( more than 2 GB ) file from the official website . I wonder how offensive mod is it .

edit : installed , played and deleted it . It was boring .
