If by success you mean leading a life, that will ensure that the people you leave behind, remember you with love and affection after you're gone - then I'd say: yes, that's the kind of success, that matters in the end - even if you are not around anymore to "appreciate" it.

The constant increase of entropy (in the mean) is one of the laws of nature. You can decrease entropy locally, but only by increasing it more somewhere else.

According to me this is the most important thing that needs to be their with us at the end of the day. We need to feel complete with all to-do list we have or will have or even for that matter had in our lives. At the end of each day we should feel like we have accomplished something or at least helped someone accomplish something.

Event horizon is just given distance on a given time, it is measured from universe creation up to observe time how far the farthest event reached, so it is constantly growing, how is that a wall?
For that entropy law you need a wall even in theory, so where is your wall? Not that that law has to be true in larger systems nothing proves it is, still you miss your wall to reflect back :)
