Anno 1404 Venice, with it's save game and exit message because of memory run out? I've been ignoring it for nearly an hour with it's 10 minute reminders.

It might not do that if you make sure you run as administrator and add it to the list of DEP exceptions (i think this is what I did with it).

To do the latter:
Open control panel. Go to System, then advanced system settings.
Then go to the "Advanced" tab and click the settings button under "Performance".
Finally go to the "Data Execustion Prevention" tab, ensure "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select" is selected and navigate to the games exe file by clicking "Add". If the game cannot be run this way it will let you know, but its worth trying (particularly on windows 10) as you'll likely get less of those types of errors.

Secondly... if you are on windows 10, then theres also windows 10 memory compression (which seems to be a problem with some games). if you open resource monitor you'll probably find a bunch of entries for games / programs that have crashed (and end them, freeing up ram). Ive no idea how to turn that damned thing off though, but hopefully the dep thing will help prevent your issue.

Did you check the Anno forum for potential help?

No. Tried a couple of things but they didn't work.
