omega64: Oh, if you like that definitely play Binary Domain, shooting arms of robots makes them unable to fire.
Shooting their heads off makes them go crazy and shoot others, and shooting their legs off makes them crawl towards you.

Really fun game.

Matruchus: Yeah it seems a fun game. Will wait a bit if it comes to gog.
Well considering it came out in 2012 and was published by Sega I wouldn't count on it.
But sure. :P

nightcraw1er.488: Quite true, if you can be bothered they are lying around, some a bit trickier to find but nothing to validate the term secret. And the upgrades don't excite either, machine gun, shotgun, rocket - same for plasma variety - they all feel much the same.
avatar
Matruchus: Yeah, they do but the railgun is cool :) Or the electric gun :) To be fair I didn't get to use all the weapons when I did my first run through since there aren't enough upgrade tubes lying around to get all the weapons unlocked in a usefull fashion.
I didn't have any problem, I upgraded the standard gun almost fully, shields and such like, and a bit of the plasma gun. There are a fair amount lying around, just need to look for them, and be selective as well, there are a few of the upgrades which are of no use - the scanner upgrages are useless.

Actually the level one scanner upgrade on the rifle gives you almost sharpshooter sight which makes it faster to kill the enemies. They seem to take more damage in that mode. I played a lot like that with right mouse button pressed down.
I mean I didn't get one weapon on the live ammunition guns and one on the plasma guns line. I got all the others unlocked. If the game had one more level that would include Haven I would have unlocked everything :)

Tauto: So,it's a very average game?
Yes. Graphically its ok, has a bit of action, but just feels empty in all repects. The "story" is totally cliched and I must have missed half of it as it didn't really make much sense. Bit of variety in enemies, but nothing great. Weapons are average, no surprises. Control is below average, no crouch, jump is very odd in both directions. You will feel like you are wandering an empty corridor, going from one battle to the next with no real point.
So for £2 its probably worth it, if you don't have the original. I wouldn't pay any more for it, or buy it again if I already owned it though. Its nowhere near the quality of SW2013, so go play that if you need some hot sword action!

If you like using melee weapons definitely check out SW 2013, using the Katana is the best part of the game.

Tauto: ...snip
I am dissapointed Tauto, an avatar like that and you don't own Shadow Warrior 2013?

It has pretty good graphics for its time, good sword action on a reasonable set of bad guys. Story isn't bad for a shooter. Weapons all feel pretty good and chunky especially when you add barrels and such like. The one liners from Wang are good - unfortunately not as vulgularly un-pc as they used to be but still quite funny. Secrets abound, and cookies are quite funny. So imagine the good old days Duke/Shadow Warrior/Serious Sam/Doom era.

Never was much on shooters until I came across Fallout 3,mainly an RPG person.
