I found this comment really weird. It made me wonder whether "emotional games" is a well-defined and restricted genre I'm not familiar with ... You know, like Visual Novels, only Emotional Games! Heh.

Well, let me tell you...that driving in that game is absolutely hysterical. I kidnapped a pick-up truck, (the game is set-up so that the cars don't drive toooo well), drove over the town pedestrians, blew out my four tires, tore of my doors, ruptured the gas mains, flew over a barricade, landed down below on a free-way going the wrong direction. When I flew up in the air after hitting the barricade, the screen flashed and said that I had just broken the air-borne height record for the game. I got to laughing so hard, I had to stop playing and gather myself back together.

I'm all good with that XD I hope that everyone will stop for a minute and do the survey for my friend's friend, but I'm loving all of the feedback!

To the Moon definitely DOES fit into this category. I think that any game that draws you in enough to make you teary-eyed (or angry, or super-happy, etc) fits.

Eh...

I don't think I can really answer that survey to my satisfaction. I like a story that can engage my emotions and make me think, but I also don't like games that heavily emphasize "story," because that often comes at the cost of gameplay. The sorts of games that earn a lot of attention for being "emotional" also tend to be so in the most wretched ways.

Ditto "moral choices." On paper, it's a nice additional facet of gameplay. In practice, "choice and consequence" is usually ust another tacked-on bullet point.

I was just finished Aliens: Colonial Marines few days ago. I think it was very emotional despite being FPS with no particular romance options in it:
