tinyE: I'll admit that I am kind of weird. If there is spyware on it I really don't care; I pity the poor guy who has to keep tabs on me. :P I expected none of my games to work on it, and 99% of them do, so I'm happy. Is it perfect, HELL NO, but I just want the computer to turn on and the game to start, that's all.
You don't run alot of older games as its slowely breaking them. Take NOLF 2 for example older versions of Windows 10 it ran now I cant get it to patch due to an error with Installshield. And I know there that site but I own the game on disc. I'm not beaing me to to you and if your into the whole new things that MS are offering fair enough, but i i'd much rather have my older games working and my classic theme back than all this modern crap I have to remove (which gets bigger with each update.)

Also theres the whole yeah I cant install this game as the driver is blocked in Windows 10. They just assume so much. *Could rant on easily*

But each to their own personally I hate it. I hate the direction they are going.

Pond86: Unless you knew tinyE's stats on Windows 10. He loves it for some reason and uses it.

I use Windows 10 too, though I hate it so much. But Windows I feel I have to use (as Linux i've looked into and stuggled with gaming wise in the past. Also I hate the layout of it.)
> Layout. You can literally change nearly everything about the layout of any Linux distribution to suit your personal needs...

I couldn't as i've never used it. It took me a good 30 mins just to install an engine for Ultimate Doom then I gave up and went back to Windows. If you know what you're doing then i'm sure its great, if you know nothing then I struggled with it before giving up.

That's true its much more difficult to get used to and frustrating to get things up and running for gaming in particular.

Thats why as much as i've wanted to jump ship ive not.
Back then when my PC had to much RAM for XP 32 to handle. But I switched to W7 as soon as it was available. Most things worked fine though. But it always... felt odd?

TerriblePurpose: Nope. Win10 64 bit and Win7 64 bit. XP is old, outdated, and unsupported.
To be honest; it did felt a bit unsupported even when it was officially still supported :P

Win10 on the other hand is over-supported... it treats you like an imbecile too thick to own a computer.

Which is why I was glad I wasn't thick enough to make the change over "free" from 8.1 64-bit.

Unlike with W7 I did not used the first (...or any) opportunity to switch to W10. Something that attention seeking and leg humping weirds me out. When they had their worst at their "free" phase I was really disgusted by their invasive behavior. With something that desperate trying to get on my rig nothing good can happen.

Absolutely. I had a bad feeling about the "push" campaign MS was running with their free phase. Made worse when I read that those who left their automatic updates on got the resources automatically DLed "ready" for the change.
MS has a bad track record for their new releases (rarely is the new version better, unless the previous one REALLY sucked ass). I was surprised the number of users who just blindly leaped before looking. The truth is that MS might have been more likely to rethink/change their W10 features if less people jumped on the wagon. Complaining about an OS but sticking with it does not send a message because MS knows they've got you by the balls. And yes, I know it doesn't help that a new system comes shipped with the new OS, and for that I pity those with problems.

I had my issues with the UI of Win8.1, but I'd rather this than W10 chewing up my bandwidth and screwing up my drivers.

Granted, the vast majority of PC users probably need exactly that, sad as it is. =/ That said, I haven't had any real issues in the past 2 years I've been using Win10. *shrug*

I didn't have issues either, but I'm not exactly missing it now that I accidentally blew it away.
No. It was great while it lasted. Fun times. It took me a while to migrate to Windows 7, since I was content with XP.
Vista was out of question, just like now it's Windows 8 and 10. Windows XP was great. Windows 7 is great.

My first self built gaming rig (which is still my second gaming pc!) was an Athlon FX 60 based build that runs on XP Pro, but a 32 bit version. It's an offline only setup now, but still good for all the hundreds of games installed on it.

Windows 7 Pro was my first (and last!) 64 bit Microsoft OS. I'm transitioning to Linux these days.

In hindsight these are the best MS OS i used:

W98se, XP Pro and Windows 7 Pro.

After Windows 7 i lost trust in MS and moved to Linux (though i still do all my gaming on Windows).

I am going to stick with Windows XP forever ever playing video games on it like The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Windows 7 will be my main for the next ten years.
