I love Dishonored, but as far as I'm concerned bethesda is a poor company I'll be cautiously optimistic for it still.
wpegg: I also haven't got round to playing the first one yet. Picked it up in a steam sale, was actually considering playing it today (am on holiday, and out of games :(), but opted for System Shock 2 instead. Is it worth playing through?
It's really good as long as you're not expecting a Thief reboot. Most people that dislike Dishonored seem to have been tricked by the marketing to believe it's the new thief, when it's really quite a different beast. Don't get me wrong it's a stealth game alright, but the way stuff works is a bit different.
I picked up the GOTY edition at 7,50 years later and I almost regret not getting it at launch. The story is good, especially DLC. The mechanics are solid, but you get a bit overpowered in my opinion so you might want to do a challenge run (Either no kill, or high chaos plenty of fun achievements too if you're into those).
I played through both game and DLC multiple times to get all the endings, and no matter how you play it, yes it's worth at least 1 playthrough.
