I have very little goodwill left for this platform. First the fair regional pricing went away. Then they started accepting neutered releases with disclaimers like "The DRM-free GOG version does not include multiplayer functionality." Or "The GOG version doesn't include music due to licensing issues." Then came the sleazy porn "games." Don't get me wrong, I don't have any problem with sleazy porn, but this stuff is the most basic choose your own adventure text-based bargain-bin visual novel nonsense. Now ads when you check out. What utter rubbish.

I get that ads are annoying. I mean I too use Ublock Origin and haven't seen any ads on GOG so far, however, I really fail to see what's so 'disgusting' about ads or food in general...

To me 'disgusting' would be an ad for Haggis or some bacterial slime you can use to break down your own garbage, something. Idk. :D
